Boozy hen dos and butlers in the buff are being ditched in favour of sober axe throwing, escape rooms and cocktail making, new figures have revealed
Male strippers could face 'extinction' as the traditional hen do, complete with plastic phalluses and male strippers, is being replaced by escape rooms and axe throwing, according to recent statistics.
Last year, not a single male stripper was hired for a bridal party, while bookings for immersive experiences soared by 270%.
Group shows featuring scantily-clad 'Butlers in the buff' also saw a nearly 70% drop. It's not just brides-to-be who are turning their backs on strippers 70% of stag parties also avoided strip clubs last year.
Stag and hen do organisers suggest that the rise of online adult platform OnlyFans may be contributing to the decline in stripper bookings for soon-to-be-wed couples.
Instead, hens and stags are showing more interest in activities like escape rooms, axe throwing, karaoke booths and mini-golf. The study was conducted by professional party organisers lastnightoffreedom.co.uk, which arranges thousands of hen and stag dos each year.
Managing director Matt Mavir commented: "The figures showing the bookings hen and stag dos have made makes for startling reading."
"People aren't boozing as heavily and we're down more than 50% on purely alcohol related activities. Trends are changing and we've seen over the last few years a huge increase in booking for fun and immersive experiences."
"We're up 270% on activities like escape rooms, axe throwing, karaoke booths, mini golf and cocktail making."
"The figures also showed that hens and stags aren't booking risqué activities as much."
He continued: "There were no private male strip shows booked in the UK in 2024 and we're down nearly 70 per cent on male group strip shows and butlers in the buff."
"Stags aren't as bothered about going to strip clubs and we're down over 50 per cent on strip club entry bookings.
"This could be in part due to platforms like OnlyFans where you can essentially connect with a person without leaving your house for £10.
"Perhaps the thought of an IRL (In Real Life) experience is too overwhelming."
Married dad-of-two Matt, who runs www.lastnightoffreedom.co.uk, has organised more than 50,000 stag and hen dos over the last 25 years.
