Malia Obama shows off her stylish layering skills in latest outing

Malia Obama knows how to layer her clothes. The eldest daughter of Barack and Michelle Obama has become a fashion icon over the past couple of years, as she's spent more and more time on prestigious Los Angeles events. And while she's known for owning some of the hottest items on fashion trends and for having an affection for menswear, she's also someone who enjoys a sporty and comfortable look. 

Last week, Malia was photographed in West Hollywood hanging out with a friend after the two attended a pilates session. Malia managed to put an outfit together that was sporty, comfortable, and cool, all with the help of different layers of fabric. 

She wore baggy and comfortable linen pants that she paired with a white top, a drapey sweater, and a long black coat. To add a pop of color, she layered on a green scarf and rounded out the look with black Mary Jane flats. 

Malia's outfit has plenty of things going for it. While it's relaxed and comfortable, it's also in synch, with all pieces having that relaxed and drapey style. The Mary Jane flats add a touch of refinement to the look, while the scarf makes it more vibrant and fun, especially when windy in Los Angeles.

While Malia and her younger sister Sasha steer clear of the press, the two are often photographed attending various events and spending time with their friends. 

Last week, Sasha was photographed shopping for some books. It marked her first time being seen out and about in Los Angeles following the devastating fires that plagued the city for the past month.
