Mariah Carey is no stranger to making headlines for her romantic partners, and her latest suspected fling is no different.
The 55-year-old songstress was recently spotted in Aspen, Colorado, on a dinner date with none other than Anderson .Paak, whose real name is Brandon Paak Anderson. Carey and the 8-time Grammy Award winner were photographed on the night of Sunday, December 22, as they walked into Catch Steak together. In one of the snaps obtained by TMZ, the "We Belong Together" singer can be seen grabbing .Paak's hand, seemingly leading him to the restaurant. Despite arriving at the dinner date together, one eyewitness told the outlet that the two left separately.
The outlet also reported that an insider insisted the two were not dating or in a romantic relationship, explaining that they were actually working on music together.
.Paak, 38, and Carey spent some time together during recording sessions in New York City at the legendary Electric Lady Studios in June. Later that same month, the songstress had an interview with Vogue where she all but named .Paak, saying, "I've actually been working this whole week in the studio with someone who shall remain nameless, but I'm so excited about that," before adding, "The next album is happening and coming soon, so be patient."
The two were also together for a Halloween party in West Hollywood, with .Paak posting a picture next to Carey on Instagram. The "Come Down" singer also attended one of the songstress' Christmas concerts in November, which got fans talking about the possible budding relationship, with some taking to the comments section of a post about the two on Reddit.
"They've been together a lot recently 👀," wrote one fan who seemingly thinks they might be more than friends, while a second noted, "She said at some point in the last 2 years that she had worked on new music with 2 male artists, and the Halloween party plus this makes me suspect Anderson .Paak is one of them." A third chimed in, writing, "Better just be for work because he'd be Nick Cannon: the Re-Up in a relationship."
Carey recently made headlines after her Christmas hit "All I Want For Christmas Is You" reached the number one spot on the Billboard Hot 100 charts around 30 years after its release in 1994. The songstress celebrated the milestone while on stage during a performance where her twins, Moroccan and Monroe, both 13. The single managed to make it to the Billboard top ten for the first time in 2017. The song made the top five the following year and has gone on to claim the top spot every year since. The mother-of-two shares her twins with her ex husband, Nick Cannon.
