Matt LeBlanc just doesn’t feel the same about Hollywood after losing Matthew Perry.
According to an insider for DailyMail.com on Thursday, the beloved Friends star has quietly decidet to leave acting for good. He’s barely been spotted out at all since the death of his co-star, and he’d like to keep it that way, says the source. Apparently he’s still struggling a lot with Matthew’s death a year later — and the tragedy has led him to focus on other aspects of his life.
The insider said:
“Matt is still upset over the loss of Matthew. Such an important part of his life and a good friend is gone. It has made him rethink his life. He wants to focus on other interests as that’s what is important to him right now.”
Makes complete sense. The death of someone so close to you isn’t something you can get over easily.

Matt’s last acting gig was on CBS‘ sitcom Man with a Plan, and since then the only thing he’s been in was the Friends reunion back in 2021. That may actually be the last time fans see him on the TV screen, as he’s reportedly decided to silently retire:
“He would need the perfect opportunity to return in front of the camera for any role in TV and film as he has silently retired. He is financially stable and doesn’t really want to be in the limelight anymore.”
Matt certainly wouldn’t be the first actor to walk away from Hollywood. And he’s actually been looking at the decisions of some huge stars to see how it’s done:
“He has looked into how both Rick Moranis and Jack Nicholson did it. They just stopped and decided to live life and be happy with what they did in the past. He wants to enjoy life and keep things simple.”
It’s good he’s putting himself first while dealing with such a difficult circumstance.
Earlier this week, InTouch reported his Friends costars Jennifer Aniston and Courteney Cox have been worried about him after the Chandler Bing portrayer’s passing — especially lately. They’ve been making sure at least one of them has their eye on Matt at all times to ask how you doin’. So sad…
Our hearts go out to Matt as he’s still grieving the loss of his friend. We hope he can find peace.
