Maura Higgins and Pete Wicks' few weeks apart from each other will determine whether or not they want to be more than friends, a relationship expert has claimed.
In recent weeks, the pair have set tongues wagging due to their many sightings together which has included an alleged kiss, but both have denied that they are officially dating.
Despite this, Jesper Jensen, a relationship expert at ExpertsEnAmour, believes their no-contact for several weeks as she takes part on I'm A Celebrity... Get Me Out Of Here! could change things.
“Time apart helps people figure out what they really want. If they genuinely value each other and prioritise regular communication, this separation could deepen their connection and clarify whether they’re ready to make things official," he shared.
"Distance gives perspective and makes relationships stronger."
Ahead of her jungle stint, the Love Island star claimed she was single when asked if she's dating Pete.
"I mean, I've been on a date with many people," she told The Mirror.
"I'm not [dating]. Where have you heard that? I date but I'm very much single."
The 33-year-old went on to say interest in her dating life "is so boring" adding: "People go on dates. Like everyone goes on dates, but then it suddenly becomes that I am in a relationship with this person, or that person."
Last month however, she gushed over Pete and claimed they "instantly clicked" shortly after her stint on Love Island in 2019.
"Our humour is the same," the reality star shared on Paul C. Brunson's We Need To Talk podcast. "It’s like that sick, dark humour. It's very abusive. We abuse each other.
"Very nasty, hilarious. We just get on very, very well. Very, very well. I adore him, he’s amazing."
Also pressed on their status last month, Strictly Come Dancing star Pete, 36, shut down claims they're officially dating.
"I think Maura is great and we get on very well and have done for a very long time," he shared.
Quizzed further by Olivia Attwood on her So Wrong, It's Right podcast, he denied they were together but was accused of lying by the host.
Keen to move on from the topic, Pete brought up his Strictly stint and went on to shut down suggestions that he is dating his dance partner Jowita Przystał.
I'm A Celebrity... Get Me Out Of Here! continues tonight at 9pm on ITV and ITVX.
