Real Housewives of Beverly Hills star Mauricio Umansky, 54, has been in the news quite a bit thanks to his much-talked-about separation from Kyle Richards, 55. However, he and his family also have some drama.
Notably, it involves his sister, Sharon Umansky Benton, 52, their father, and his long-time girlfriend. Now, a court has granted a permanent restraining order for Sharon against the girlfriend, Simin Tabibnia, 68.
Fans may recall that reports surfaced in October that Mauricio and his sister requested a conservatorship for their after, Eduardo Umansky, 81. They did so because they believed that Simin had allegedly become too controlling and that she was trying to isolate him from the family. Luckily for them, they were appointed co-conservators for their dad’s finances.
According to In Touch Weekly, things didn’t end with them successfully entering their dad into a conservatorship as Sharon has scored a new legal victory against the longtime girlfriend. The court has granted a permanent restraining order against Simin. Additionally, she is required to pay Sharon’s $32,000 legal fees.
Regarding the restraining order, Simin isn’t allowed within 100 yards of Sharon. This comes after Sharon accused her father’s girlfriend of getting physical with her on September 27th. Apparently, the woman not only allegedly struck Sharon, but she also bit her and pulled her hair out. Sadly, this isn’t the end to the alleged violent acts against Sharon. She also alleged in court documents that the woman launched an “unhinged” attack on her on October 25th. Of course, this was after they requested the conservatorship.
Naturally, Simin denied these claims and alleged that it was Sharon who had attacked her. She also requested a restraining order. According to her, Sharon allegedly became enraged after learning that Simin planned to marry Eduardo. Simin’s request for a restraining order was denied.
Regarding the previously approved conservatorship, Mauricio and Sharon had this to say in the legal filings: “Over the course of the past few months, [Eduardo’s] girlfriend has become more controlling, limiting, and regulating who [Eduardo] can visit with. She has begun to isolate him and is trying to get married even though they have been together for twenty years and never decided that they wanted to marry.”
The court documents continue, “[Eduardo] is unable to resist undue influence and fraud and has been taken advantage of by his girlfriend. Over the past eighteen months, [Eduardo] and [Mauricio and Sharon] have discovered that she has taken, secreted, and appropriated more than $260,000 from [Eduardo] through undue influence, whether physical or emotional and/or fraud.”
Of course, it’s unclear how the restraining order will impact Sharon and Mauricio’s relationship with their father.
Fans can watch Mauricio on RHOBH on Peacock.
