1 day ago 3

The McDonald's platform "McValue" comes into action today, offering customers new ways of getting more of the chain's food for less.

As of January 7, the Golden Arches has introduced a platform in restaurants across the country with deals that include an offer enabling you to get a burger for only $1.

Newsweek has contacted the McDonald's press office out of hours via email for comment.

What Is The McValue Update?

The McValue update is a series of new deals and offers McDonald's is introducing to offer customers ways of getting more food for less money.

The McValue menu still includes the $5 Meal Deal, other offers and deals and a new "Buy One, Add One for $1" offer on popular items for breakfast, lunch and dinner.

What To Know

The update was first announced in November and comes into action on January 7. Deals are on offer in stores as well as within the app.

The new "Buy One, Add One for $1" offer allows customers to buy one full-priced menu item from the McValue menu and then add another item of choice for only $1, as long as the item is of equal or lesser value to the first chosen item.

The breakfast items on the McValue menu for that deal include a Sausage McMuffin, a Sausage Biscuit, a Sausage Burrito and Hash Browns. For the lunch and dinner items, customers have a choice of six-piece Chicken McNuggets, a Double Cheeseburger, the McChicken or a small portion of fries.

The $5 Meal Deal has also officially been extended through next summer and will be part of the McValue platform.

The meal deal includes the choice of a McDouble or McChicken sandwich, small fries, four piece Chicken McNuggets and a small soft drink, which costs a total of $5.

What People Are Saying

Joe Erlinger, President of McDonald's USA, on the chain's press release: "When it comes to value, we know there's no one-size-fits-all. We've worked closely with our franchisees to create a new platform that will let our customers define value on their own terms. From deals on their personal go-to order to universal favorites like the $5 Meal Deal, we're excited to give fans more ways to save every time they visit one of our restaurants."

Cory Watson, McDonald's Owner and Operator, and National Value Chair for 2025, said on the company's press release: "As local small business owners, my fellow franchisees and I are always listening to what our customers want from their neighborhood McDonald's. No matter the city or the state, they're telling us how important it is for them to find their favorite meals at affordable prices. And we couldn't agree more. That's why we're committed to continuing to serve up great local deals - from special discount pricing on fan-favorite a-la-carte items to unique meal bundles, you can find great prices on iced coffees, soft drinks, cheeseburgers, chicken McNuggets and more."

What's Next

The deals start today and are available in stores across the country and on the app. McDonald's has said that local deals and offers will vary, as McDonald's franchisees are independent business owners who set their own pricing.
