McFly star Danny Jones's wife speaks out on 'constant resentment' during marriage

McFly star Danny Jones and his wife, model Georgia Horsley, have been together for 15 years, but they went through a difficult period when Georgia was left "alone" shortly after their son's birth.

The Voice star, aged 38, tied the knot with the ex-Miss England, 37, in a fairytale ceremony back in 2014, and the duo welcomed their son, Cooper Alf Jones, into the world in 2018.

Georgia, who has lived with deafness in her right ear since contracting meningitis at two years old, faced the daunting early days of motherhood solo as Danny was whisked away to work on The Voice Kids just five days after Cooper was born.

Danny is now a judge on ITV's main The Voice alongside fellow McFly member Tom Fletcher. Georgia has quipped that she and Tom's wife Giovanna might well be "single parents" with their other halves committed to the show.

Opening up about the challenges of balancing a high-flying career with family life, Georgia said: "What's great is that now Cooper can go and watch his dad.

"Before, when Danny joined The Voice Kids, it was straight after I'd had Cooper. I'd given birth five days before and he had to go back to work, so I was left home alone," reports Birmingham Live.

Yet, Georgia has disclosed that periods of separation have been a cornerstone of their enduring romance, and says time apart is "really important", suggesting it "keeps the relationship fresh".

She further stated: "We've always said that - as long as we've been together, we've always enjoyed our separate times because when we've reunited it's even nicer. Communication is key, as well.

"It's something we had to relearn after having a baby - it's just constant resentment at the other partner for not doing enough, even though they are. But in the end, it all comes together if you keep talking to each other."

It comes as Danny and his McFly bandmates will be on ITV this evening with, Mcfly The 21st Birthday Party.

The show was recorded at London's O2 Arena during the band’s 21st birthday concert and explores McFly’s history from their breakthrough hit Five Colours in Her Hair.

Danny is also rumoured to have signed up for this year's I'm A Celebrity...Get Me Out Of Here! following in the footsteps of his bandmate Dougie Poynter who won the show in 2011.
