As Meghan Markle doubles down on her “dolphin” mentality as a venture capitalist, the California-based royal is ensuring that she aligns herself with like-minded businesses in the lead-up to launching her own lifestyle empire, American Riviera Orchard. Such was the case for her surprising solo outing at a Los Angeles event.

The Duchess of Sussex stepped out in Venice Beach over the weekend to attend the launch of the haircare line Highbrow Hippie. Founded by her friends Kadi Lee and Myka Harris, the brand is a beauty and wellness line that currently offers two products—an active growth serum and an essential complex supplement—along with the financial backing of Markle herself. “I am so proud to invest in her as a friend and as a female founder,” the 43-year-old told the press earlier this month.

Putting her money where her mouth is, Markle arrived at the event with a bouquet of roses reportedly grown and hand-picked from her garden in Montecito. Markle also posed alongside Lee and her long-time hairstylist, Serge Normant, during the occasion.

Since undergoing a sartorial rebrand fitting for her ‘CEO’ era, Markle has fashioned herself into somewhat of a patron for the quiet luxury aesthetic. Continuing this mode, Markle suited up for success in sleek wool-blend bustier and tailored contrast satin trousers from coveted New York-based label Khaite. She completed the ensemble with minimal accessories like a Victoria Beckham bag and a Cartier tank watch that was formerly owned by Princess Diana.

Markle is acutely aware of the style power she wields, especially in her ability to sell out items of clothing in just one wear. The former actress quotes this attribute as part of the reason she wanted to explore investing. Her current portfolio features the handwoven accessories brand Cesta Collective and powdered superfood latte and tea company, Clevr Blends.

There’s still no word on when American Riviera Orchard will be launched into the world, but we can count on Markle doubling down in chic pieces from St. Agni, Posse or Ralph Lauren till the time comes.
