Meredith Marks shares an update on Jen Shah — who was sentenced to 78 months in prison for a fraudulent telemarketing scheme.
On the December 19th episode of the Housewives Nightcap podcast, Meredith Marks revealed that Jen Shah’s manager informed her that Jen would reach out.
“I didn’t know when, and so I was obviously a little taken by surprise in the actual moment,” Meredith begins.
“But it’s quick, you know, it’s 10 minutes, it’s recorded, and it’s interrupted periodically with a recorded message that you’re on with a federal penitentiary.”
A ‘Shahmazing’ Update
Meredith said that the overall vibe from the call, though “unusual,” was “upbeat.” Jen is seemingly taking the Teresa Giudice approach during her sentence.
“She’s working hard to support the other women around her and, you know, help people out in a variety of different ways, whether it’s fitness or hair and makeup or whatever it may be, and is, you know, serving her time.”
“And with the little bits of money she’s able to make, they’re paying some restitution. And it’s my understanding that Sharrieff is as well.”
It’s a divided Bravo house on whether or not Jen should be able to assimilate back into the SLC world.
On one hand, you shouldn’t reward a “criminal” but on the other hand, once someone atones and serves their time, why not allow them to continue working?
For Meredith, when Jen mentioned an attempt on her life in season 3, she made a commitment to herself and Jen to see her through the process. Meredith went through a similar situation with her nephew that same season.
“I do believe in second chances. And if you’re doing all the right things to right the wrongs and as best you possibly can, you gotta get a second chance.“
I’m so curious to see if Jen will become a snowflake holder again…if Teresa can do it…
