Well, this is news we were waiting for… but not like this?
The Mica Miller case took a huge leap forward last week when her ex was raided by the FBI! Pastor John-Paul Miller has been shady as hell from the very start. While Mica’s death seemed to be a suicide, her family and friends and many others weren’t convinced JP was totally innocent. Not hard to understand when you consider he allegedly groomed her since she was 14 and then abused her during their marriage.
We still don’t know what the raid was about, but now he’s been arrested! For… assault??
Like we said, we wondered if this was coming, only this bust is mostly unrelated to the raid. It isn’t a charge having to do with Mica’s death anyway, but it’s not totally unrelated either. See, we mentioned a LOT of folks are calling for Miller to be investigated, or in other words, #JusticeForMica. The movement has gotten pretty large, and apparently accused abuser JP couldn’t help himself when confronting one of the protesters.

Apparently the woman was one of a number taunting him as he cleaned out the church where he worked. (Apparently they are closing down the Solid Rock Church and opening a new one with a new name? Maybe to duck the controversy surrounding him?)
We guess this woman particularly ticked him off. NewsNation affiliate WBTW obtained video of the incident, in which Miller puts his phone in the woman’s face. He then does something that upsets her, it’s hard to see. But her friend Melissa Pfeiffer came forward as a witness and told the outlet Miller “hit the brim” of her baseball cap with his phone twice. Hardly brutal. We could see how that might have hurt a bit? More scary than injurious maybe, as he “charged at her” first? But it’s still crossing the line legally. He was arrested and charged with third-degree assault.
Miller spent the night in jail until his first bond hearing on Thursday. He’s due to appear in court again on December 10. See video of the incident for yourself (below):
As we mentioned, this all comes just days after Miller’s home was raided, with FBI agents seen removing evidence boxes, including a computer. We still have no idea what will come of that, but the FBI don’t raid places on a whim, so… We guess we’ll just see if this is only the first headline announcing the pastor’s arrest.
