Michelle Keegan took to social media to give fans a glimpse inside her morning routine - which included an early workout session and kisses with a special furry friend

Michelle Keegan gave her fans a glimpse inside her morning routine as she enjoyed a morning workout and some furry cuddles.

The 37-year-old star took to social media on Wednesday to share a snap of her toned body while exercising on a reformer machine from Align Pilates. The former Coronation Street star wore a pair of leggings, specialist pilates socks, and a cropped workout top.

With one arm extended above her head and leaning to one side, while sitting with her legs underneath her, Michelle stretched into position as she showed off her impressive pilates skills. She shared the snap of herself via her Stories and added a caption stating: "Started the day off right."

Earlier, Michelle shared a photo of herself hugging her pet dog. Posing together, Michelle shared her snap with a caption stating: "Mornings with my spoilt girl. Casually looking at herself in the mirror."

The soap star has previously shared details of her typical morning with Women's Health in a video. She told fans: "Most days I wake up about.. it depends what day it is and if I want a lie in. If I’ve got nothing in that day, I probably get up about 9am or 9:30. If I was working, probably about seven."

She continued: "I wake up by alarm. I have to, otherwise I can sleep until noon... I'm not a morning person. I wish I was, but I'm definitely more of a night owl. It takes me a long, long time to come around in the morning. Before I speak to anyone, I need coffee."

Revealing a bad habit, she went on: "The first thing I do when I wake up, and I hate to say it is probably check my phone, and I want to nip that in the bud. But it’s a habit. And then I go make myself a cup of tea or a coffee."

Michelle went on to explain that she loves to exercise in the morning. Sharing details of a workout, she said: "If I was to do a morning workout, I'd probably do a hiit for 45 minutes, and then I'm done for the rest of the day. I shower in the morning. And I like to have a bath at night. I like to use anything coconut smelling based. I do like that, whether it's shower gel, shampoo, and I do use a Vitamin E face moisturiser as well. I feel like it freshens the skin up."

Michelle said she typically skips breakfast, but will have avocado on toast of a protein shake after a morning workout. And she also gave an insight into the brutal hours she works when she is filming a project. She revealed: "Normally, if I’m filming a show, I'd be up at 5am, picked up a half five, coffee on the way, or coffee when I get there, and as soon as I have that coffee in hand, that's when the morning starts."

Sharing her top morning tips with fans, she added: "So my morning rituals would be, always wear a moisturiser with SPS, always, and I always let the dogs out for a wee. I’ve got two dogs, and they have to go out straight away in case they do it on my carpets. But they don’t, because they’re very well behaved, but they go out first."
