The representative from India, Rachel Gupta, became the new winner of Miss Grand International, at the beauty pageant held in Bangkok, Thailand.
Gupta prevailed in the final over the representative of the Philippines, Christine Juliane Opiaza, while the Burmese Thae Su Nyein finished in third.
The new Miss Grand International received the crown from the 2023 winner, Peruvian Luciana Fuster, who won last year's event, then held in Vietnam.
Standing 1.78 meters tall, Gupta is a professional model and hails from the Punjab province in northwest India.
The contest had 69 participants and the final 10 finalists were from the nations of Spain, Peru, Brazil, Dominican Republic, France, Indonesia, Burma, United Kingdom, India and the Philippines.
The event created 11 years ago at this occasion's venue, Thailand, should have been held in Cambodia, however, some organizational problems within the venue forced a last minute change of venue to Bangkok.
