This year marks Molly-Mae's first Christmas as a single mum

As the festive season rolls in, complete with tree trimmings and new family rituals, former Love Island sensation Molly-Mae Hague faces a unique emotional challenge. This Christmas she'll be embarking on her first one as a single mum, following her split from Tommy Fury earlier this year in August. But a source has told OK! that she's committed to making it memorable for their young daughter Bambi. The source said: "They both absolutely love all the holidays but especially Christmas. Even before Bambi came along it was a big thing for them, but obviously with Bambi it's been an even bigger deal."

According to the insider, this Christmas will be quite distinct. However, the focus remains squarely on little Bambi: "This year will be very different but Bambi will still be at the centre of everything. They're going to spend time together, the three of them, but it's unlikely they'll be waking up in the same house or anything, they're very much separated." Molly-Mae and Tommy welcomed Bambi in January 2023 and the duo got engaged later that year with a proposal straight out of a fairy tale in Ibiza. But by August, the 25 year old announced the end of her relationship with Tommy, not even a full year after they celebrated their daughter's first Christmas.

Last year, the couple had a relaxing, family-oriented day where they all wore matching pyjamas. However, 2024 might be slightly different for the entrepreneur. During an Instagram Q&A with her followers, Molly-Mae expressed her excitement about hosting Christmas, saying: "I'm so excited! I can't wait to have everyone here and make it super special." Yet, she didn't confirm if Tommy, 25, would be invited to the festivities. Furthermore, Molly-Mae has been open about the challenges of single parenting recently, after admitting she felt 'out of her depth' during a trip to Dubai.

The star confessed that the journey had dented her confidence as she missed the 'emotional and physical support' from Tommy. Discussing the trip, Molly said: "To be honest with you, it utterly knocked my confidence as a mum because I felt like, over the last few months, I've been getting into a really really good place with motherhood, feeling so confident and feeling really on top of my game, feeling like I've got Bambi sussed." She continued: "It's knocked my confidence so much with taking Bambi abroad ever again. It kind of made me feel quite emotional just to feel like I actually, really in motherhood, needed definitely physical and emotional support."

Despite the challenges she may face this festive season, Molly-Mae Hague and Tommy Fury are determined to co-parent effectively over Christmas, creating a magical time for their child. The 25 year old influencer has already transformed her Cheshire home into a winter wonderland, complete with a Santa-themed staircase and the first Elf on the Shelf for baby Bambi, as she showcased on Instagram. A source said: "They're working really hard to try and stay on friendly terms so they just want to put all their struggles aside and have the best time together that they can, and make it all about Bambi. They'll push any personal feelings about each other to one side."

"There's a lot of hurt on Tommy's side because he feels he's been misrepresented in the breakup and got a lot of the blame, but they've both agreed not to talk about it. Molly-Mae has already shown she's made of strong stuff and she's been very respectful on her vlogs." The couple, who have faced numerous rumours post-breakup, including infidelity allegations which Tommy has vehemently denied, and criticism over his boxing focus, have remained largely silent on the reasons behind their split.

According to the source, this Christmas is all about making special memories for Bambi, as they told us: "But dealing with their families is something different, there's a lot of animosity there because both sides are big personalities and very protective of Tommy and Molly-Mae. So they're not going to have a big family Christmas because that's too much, too soon, but it'll be about the three of them."

Adding on the family dynamics, "Tommy's opinion with the family situation is that he'll always be around because he's Bambi's dad, but he knows things take time to settle." Furthermore, regarding Molly-Mae's new role, they said, "It's difficult for Molly-Mae because she didn't expect to be spending Christmas as a single mum, but she's determined not to let it affect Bambi. She's already shown she's made of strong stuff and she's been very respectful on her vlogs."
