Netflix has announced Ms. Rachel, the popular kids series hosted by YouTuber and kids educator Rachel Accurso that focuses on toddler development, will launch on Jan. 27.
The debut of an initial four episodes, with more to come later, for Ms. Rachel follows a YouTube channel featuring Accurso alongside husband Aron generating over 100 videos for around 11 million subscribers and which have earned over 7 billion views.
“Soon you can also watch Ms. Rachel on Netflix!” Accurso’s persona character, wearing a trademark pink headband, excitedly said on her Instagram page on Tuesday. Netflix on its Tudum blog site explained the initial four-episode season of Ms. Rachel will include interactive lessons teaching letters, numbers, colors, shapes and more for young audiences.
The episodes will be in English with subtitles in 33 languages. They will focus on speech and toddler learning, first words and milestones for babies, learning to read for pre-schoolers, and songs and nursery rhymes.
Netflix on its blog praised Accurso for offering videos that focus on kids’ development, from early language skills to learning to read, while entertaining her young audience.
“As any parent — or anyone else with a small child in their lives — likely already knows, Rachel Accurso, or Ms. Rachel, is a beloved and passionate educator whose videos for her phenomenally popular YouTube channel inspire ‘littles’ and their families to learn and bond together. Incorporating singing, dancing, and play, Ms. Rachel’s videos help children learn how to talk and express themselves and their emotions,” Netflix stated.
