NBA Star Anthony Edwards Accuses Ex Ayesha of Being ‘Deceitful’ and ‘Manipulative’ in Court Battle

4 days ago 5

Anthony Edwards’ ex Ayesha Howard sued him for paternity in California but the NBA star claims she only had the baby in Los Angeles to score higher child support, In Touch can exclusively report.

In Touch obtained the petition filed by Ayesha, 36, in Los Angeles Superior Court on October 22, 2024.

Ayesha claimed she and Anthony, 23, were the parents of a daughter named Aubri Summer Howard, born on October 14, 2024.

She asked the court to award her legal and physical custody of the daughter.

In addition, she asked that child support be established by the court.

Ayesha also requested Anthony be on the hook for uninsured labor and delivery costs along with reasonable expenses of pregnancy such as a crib, clothes, diapers and baby wipes.

Ayesha asked that Anthony cover her attorney fees in the case.

As In Touch previously reported, Anthony filed his own paternity lawsuit against Ayesha in September 2024, weeks before Ayesha gave birth.

He asked that a DNA test be conducted to determine if he was the father.

Anthony filed his petition in Georgia. On December 31, 2024, Anthony fired back at Ayesha’s case filed in L.A. and demanded the case be dismissed.

Anthony’s legal team said, “Simply stated, the court lacks personal jurisdiction over Anthony and therefore cannot properly consider” this case. Anthony said he has never lived in California, does not consent to the case being heard in California and was not personally served in California.

“Ayesha has engaged in deceitful or manipulative actions that make this an inappropriate court to hear this case,” Anthony’s lawyer wrote.

She has traveled to California with the sole intent of delivering the minor child here to obtain jurisdiction in bad faith.”

“Aubri was born in California on October 14, 2024. There is no evidence that Aubri has been present in California since her birth on more than a temporary basis. This is likely because Ayesha has no intention of making California her and Aubri’s home,” Anthony’s lawyer argued.

Anthony said Ayesha worked as a dancer at the famed Magic City Strip Club in Atlanta until she got pregnant around January 2024.

He said that the only connection to California is that she “allegedly rents a room in a backhouse located in Inglewood, California.”

His lawyer said, “Despite this claim, Ayesha has never been seen at the residence.”

“Significant surveillance has also occurred at the property at which Ayesha claims to live, but not once has she or the child ever been seen there,” Anthony’s lawyer added.

Anthony said Georgia is the right state for the case to be heard since he claims they met there, grew up there and Anthony owns property.

Anthony’s motion said both of their families live in Georgia, “including Ayesha’s minor child from another relationship, and Ayesha was present in Georgia until September, when she temporarily relocated to California to obtain a higher child support award.”

The NBA star said he plays for the Minnesota Timberwolves and resides in Minnesota during the season.

However, he said he spends most of his off-season time in Georgia.

Anthony filed a declaration stating, “I believe that Ayesha traveled to California to give birth with the intention of forum shopping. Ayesha’s bad faith conduct should not be condoned. This case should be dismissed and the case properly filed by me in Fulton County, Georgia should proceed.”

As In Touch first reported, Ayesha moved to dismiss Anthony’s Georgia case. She claimed she had moved from Georgia to California in August 2023.

Ayesha said she has no plans to move back to Georgia. Ayesha claimed that neither her or Anthony have ties to Georgia and argued the case should be heard in California.

In her motion, Ayesha said she believed Anthony wanted child support set in Georgia and not California due to his belief that a “child support determination under Georgia law would be more favorable to him than one governed by California law.”

Ayesha said she set up her entire life in California and even gave birth to her daughter there. Anthony’s legal team opposed Ayesha’s request to dismiss his Georgia case.

In her filing, Ayesha also claimed a DNA test came back showing Anthony was indeed the father to her daughter. Both cases are still pending.

As In Touch previously reported, Anthony has a girlfriend named Shannon Jackson. They share one daughter. Page Six reported that Anthony was rumored to have another son named Amir with a woman named Ally.

Ayesha has a son with rapper Lil Baby.
