NFL Touchdown Props: Best Bets for Week 7 Anytime TD Scorers

1 month ago 6

We'll spare you the preamble today: this article is going to hit exactly what the headline promises: the best Anytime Touchdown plays on a day full of intriguing matchups across the league.

The two most tempting Anytime TD bets for NFL Week 7 that we've seen start with Commanders QB Jayden Daniels against the sieve that is the Panthers D right now. Also worth checking out: Lions scoring machine David Montgomery vs. division rival Minnesota.

Carolina Panthers vs. Washington Commanders, 4:05 p.m. ET

At this point, we're beating a head horse in nearly every NFL bets piece we write, but there's no overstating how vulnerable the Panthers defense is right now, especially against the run.

Carolina's D-line and linebacker units have been decimated by injury. As a result, we've seen one big Sunday after another by RBs facing the Panthers in recent weeks:

  • CIN RB Chase Brown: 15 carries, 80 yards, 2 TDs (WK 4)
  • CHI RB D'Andre Swift: 21 carries, 73 yards, 1 TD; 2 catches, 47 yards (WK 5)
  • ATL's B. Robinson, T. Allgeier: 33 carries, 190 yards, 3 TD combined (WK 6)

A week after Washington moved the ball despite a rough day on the ground against Baltimore's outstanding rushing defense, expect the Panthers to see a heavy dose of Brian Robinson Jr. The Washington RB missed last week's loss, but is expected to be active in this game.

In addition to Robinson Jr., we like Daniels' chances of rushing for a touchdown against the Panthers patchwork linebacker group. Daniels has not been super involved in the ground game every week, but he's been effective when he has needed to pick up yards on the ground, and we expect him to find the end zone today for the first time in a couple weeks.

Washington's offense abused the last bad run D it faced, with four TDs on the ground (including one by Daniels) and 216 yards on Arizona in Week 4.

That is just one of the reasons why the former LSU star is good value at -110 to break his drought (if we can call two weeks a drought) and run one in today.

Jayden Daniels Anytime TD (-110): 1 unit

David Montgomery Anytime TD (-125) FanDuel

Detroit Lions vs. Minnesota Vikings, 1 p.m. ET

Before we get to the case for Montogmery, a quick PSA:

Line-shopping is essential in all markets, and it's massive for ATTD bets in particular.

Today's case in point: Lions RB David Montgomery is -160 or shorter to score against Minnesota today, but he's also available at as long as -125 at FanDuel. He's not great value at the former price, but he's one of plays of the day at FanDuel's current price.

There's always a chance he ends up on the wrong end of a vulture situation for a change -- how many drives the last couple years have seen Montgomery punch in short rushing TDs after a big gainer or two by Jahmyr Gibbs? -- but Montgomery is as close to a lock to find the end zone as any player in the league (non-Derrick Henry division).

The goal-line monster is feasting on high-value opportunities once again in 2024. After finding paydirt 13 times on the ground last year, he's had six in five games this year, and at this rate, a 20-TD season shouldn't shock anyone.

Honestly, at this point, the better question for Montgomery might not be if he'll score, but how many times he will.

Throw a unit on Montgomery to score today, and don't hesitate to make a smaller wager on his enticing 2+ TDs market as well.

David Montgomery Anytime TD (-125): 1 Unit
