Nicole Kidman made an appearance at the Los Angeles premiere of Special Ops: Lioness season two, where she shared a deeply personal moment about the recent passing of her mother, Janelle. The 57-year-old actress struggled with her emotions as she spoke about her grief, revealing how challenging it has been to cope with her loss. Janelle, who was 84, passed away last month.
"I wish my mama was here," she told The Hollywood Reporter.
"It's been hard. It's a hard road. I'm hanging in there."
Stole the limelight on red carpet
On the red carpet, Kidman caught everyone's attention, not just for her candid reflections but also for her noticeably slimmer figure and bold fashion statement.
She stepped out in a striking backless cowl-neck top paired with a vibrant yellow midi skirt.
Received the Best Actress award
The premiere came just weeks after Kidman's bittersweet moment at the Venice Film Festival, where she was honored with the Best Actress award for her performance in Babygirl.
Her accolade was announced just hours after she learned of her mother's passing, making it an emotional time for the actress. Despite the circumstances, Kidman expressed gratitude for the support she has received during this difficult period, showing grace and resilience in the face of loss.
"Today I arrived in Venice to find out shortly after, that my beautiful, brave mother Janelle Ann Kidman has just passed," Nicole said.
"I am in shock and I have to go to my family, but this award is for her, she shaped me, she guided me, and she made me.
"I am beyond grateful that I get to say her name to all of you through Halina, the collision of life and art is heart-breaking, and my heart is broken. We love you all."
