Were Ye and Bianca Censori escorted out of Grammys red carpet proceedings on Sunday? In short, no.
Confusingly, that's what appears to have been claimed in an apparent Instagram update from the folks at Entertainment Tonight earlier Sunday night. Screenshots of the claim, which reportedly saw the long-running news magazine alleging that the couple had been “escorted out” after “showing up uninvited,” quickly made the rounds. Just as quickly, however, the post appeared to have been taken down.
As of this writing, Ye hadn't addressed the claim on social media. A source close to the situation tells Complex Ye was a nominee and thus invited. He and Bianca left after walking the carpet and were not escorted out, per the source.
As a nominee this year, it did indeed seem unlikely that Ye, who has 24 total career wins, wouldn't have been invited to the ceremony. He and Censori immediately made headlines with their red carpet appearance due to Censori's choice of attire, as we reported earlier in the night.
Within minutes of the Pop Base by-way-of Entertainment Tonight claim, Variety shared a report stating any such talk was “not true.” Instead, Ye reportedly “got in his car and left” after hitting the carpet. This would make sense, as he recently announced an event in the Los Angeles area on the same night as this year’s ceremony.
“Carnival,” off Ye and Ty Dolla Sign’s first Vultures album, was up for Best Rap Song at the 2025 Grammys, losing to Kendrick Lamar’s “Not Like Us.”
