Offset Says People Are ‘Burning Out’ Chrome Hearts

Offset thinks that the popular clothing line Chrome Hearts is becoming played out.

The rapper, who previously had a close association with the brand as a fan and eventual model, recently threw some shade at Chrome Hearts wearers on his Instagram story by sharing the words, “Yal n***as burning chrome out omg” along with a close up picture of him staring, presumably in disgust.

Chrome Hearts has had a special place in culture ever since it was founded in 1988. Although it’s become more popular with musicians and athletes in recent years, it’s also been highly favored by designers like the late Virgil Abloh and Karl Lagerfeld.

Offset’s words come just days after boxer Gervonta Davis reached out to the brand to suggest that it officially endorses him. Davis hopped on Instagram and tagged the brand that he’s been promoting for a while, writing on his Story, “@chromeheartsofficial I think it’s time for us to come to an agreement..Becuz my influence is crazy rn fam.”

Davis wasn’t lying with that post, either. For a while now, Davis has been flexing the outrageous amount of gear that he owns from Chrome Hearts on social media.

He recently went viral for showing off a new look ahead of his WBA super featherweight championship match against Lamont Roach Jr. In the photo he shared, he had a ponytail that caught the ire of social media users everywhere, but what got even more attention was the massive Chrome Hearts bean bag chair that he sat on.

Prior to that, he wore custom $100,000 Chrome Hearts shoes in a match against Frank Martin. Photos that were shared on social media last year also showcased boxing gloves and a punching bag dedicated to the brand, with him using both.

So was Offset talking about Davis? Who knows. But the real question is, will Davis still want that Chrome Hearts endorsement?
