The 2025 Grammy Awards have come to a close. We had a lot of thoughts on the show’s winners, losers, and performers. You can check those out here. But there was also a lot to be said about the show’s style.
From the red carpet to the performances on stage, music’s biggest acts made sure to bring their A-game this year. We saw promising young artists like Chapell Roan and Doechii dig into the archives of celebrated designers like Jean Paul-Gaultier and Thom Browne. Bianca Censori bared all. Kendrick Lamar turned up the pettiness to accept multiple awards for “Not Like Us.”
While it’s still tough for these highlights to crack our all-time top 10 Grammys style moments, we did still love a lot of what we saw last night. Here are our favorite style moments from the 2025 Grammys, from worst to best.
Jaden Smith has been known to make some bold fashion statements, and last weekend’s Grammys was no exception. While his outfit—a black Louis Vuitton tuxedo—seemed fairly standard save for the jacket’s slightly structured silhouette, Smith Jr. showed up with a full castle nestled on his head. The black headpiece was custom-made by Abodi Transvylvania, a brand “deeply rooted in myth and artistry” and inspired by the “dark connection to vampire folklore.” Whatever that means, it resonated with Jaden Smith, and we’re not sure what to think. –YJ Lee
Seeing Playboi Carti hit the stage to perform “Timeless” with The Weeknd was a pleasant surprise. Although we didn’t see any of the usual moshpits in the crowd when the Opium ringleader arrived, we were still treated to a proper Carti fit. He was dressed in baggy cow print shorts, chunky black hiking boots, a beanie with three red stars, and a zip-up from Endless. A white tank top, belt buckle, and wallet chains came courtesy of Chrome Hearts. Some fans were quick to point out the resemblance to prime Lil Wayne. Considering that Carti paid homage to Mixtape Weezy a few months ago, we wouldn’t be surprised if that was the intention. Nothing is necessarily wrong with this one. We’ve just gotten used to seeing Carti come way harder than this. –Mike DeStefano
Ye and Bianca Censori didn’t stay at the Grammys very long. In fact, they never even went inside. But they still made one of the biggest fashion statements of the night. Ye kept his fit calm with a black T-shirt, pants, combat boots, and sleek Prada shades covering his eyes. Censori matched him with a floor-length black fur coat before she removed it to reveal, well, everything. Censori’s sheer dress created the illusion that she was naked. The look was certainly polarizing. Love it or hate it, it definitely left a lasting impression. –Mike DeStefano
Cardi B channeled old Hollywood glamour in her custom Roberto Cavalli gown. Designed by Fausto Puglisi, every sequin and bead was hand-embroidered with feathers cascading into a train. The gown fit her like a glove, which is what we expect and love to see in custom gowns like this. –Shinnie Park
Mustard had a lot to celebrate on Grammys night. Not only did he take home multiple trophies for his production on Kendrick Lamar’s “Not Like Us,” but it was also announced that an official collaboration with Heinz would be coming later this year. For his fit, he kept things cozy with an incredible hand-knit patchwork sweater by Kapital. The rest of the outfit was clean and simple with a white button-up, black tie, black slacks, and square-toed loafers. We support the swaggy grandad vibe on this one. –Mike DeStefano
For Billie’s performance of “Birds of a Feather,” she changed into a more casual fit from her red carpet Prada suit. Billie wore an LA Dodgers baseball cap, a yellow jersey from Martine Rose’s most recent Fall/Winter 2025 collection, and baggy jeans, an outfit-formula she's been rocking since her rise. Her performance was dedicated to her hometown of LA and a tribute to all those affected by the wildfires. –Shinnie Park
Jean Paul Gaultier’s Spring/Summer 2003 couture gown first worn by Beyonce in an Elle magazine spread when the Cowboy Carter singer was 21 years-old showed up on the back of Chapell Roan who took a decidedly more drag approach. What makes this look one of the best of the night is how committed Chapell Roan is with her makeup and nails. –YJ Lee
Beyoncé had a triumphant night at the Grammys, with her surprise win caught live on camera. Despite being the most nominated and awarded artist in Grammy history, it was Beyoncé’s first win of Album of the Year. For her celebratory night, she wore a custom couture gown by the best couturier of today, Daniel Rosenberry of Schiaparelli. Bedazzled in a paisley motif, the gown mirrored western theme of her album. –Shinnie Park
Kendrick Lamar took home five Grammys for his Drake diss-turned-West Coast anthem heard ‘round the world “Not Like Us.” During the broadcast, he accepted the honors for “Record of the Year” and “Song of the Year” in a Canadian Tuxedo. You see what he did there? The denim jacket from Margiela was paired with baggy pants, a never-before-seen denim iteration of the pgLang Dodgers cap, a white T-shirt, and black loafers. To cap it off, Kendrick also had an insane Jesus piece around his neck. The internet was quick to note its high quality since the diamonds were dancing under that stage lighting. Kendrick’s Grammys attire was calm yet calculated. –Mike DeStefano
What a night for Doechii. Not only did she take home her first Grammy for Best Rap Album, but she was also the best-dressed individual of the night. It all centered around Thom Browne. She started her night in a custom grey pinstripe corset with exaggerated hips and red, white, and blue lace running up the back. When she accepted her award later on, she was in a cropped blazer and matching trousers with even more balloonish proportions than her arrival attire. Even Doechii’s performance was dressed by Thom Browne. The rapper and cast of dancers all wore short suits from the American designer for what was our favorite performance of the show. She capped off the eventful evening in an archival pinstripe tutu dress from Browne’s Fall 2023 collection. Everything was flawless from start to finish. Doechii proved that she should be in conversations for best-dressed rappers immediately. –Mike DeStefano
