Owner Wants To Take 'Very Stubborn' Dog for Walk, He Has Other Plans

A dog has left internet viewers in hysterics with his stubborn refusal to get up and go for a walk, despite his owners trying their absolute hardest.

Leanne Wilkinson shared the hilarious clip on TikTok (@leannewilkinson6) showing her Maltese terrier, named Olly, repeatedly refusing to leave his comfy spot-on the couch. Footage shows Olly's male owner trying to entice him with a leash and asking him to go out for a walk, but there was simply no budging this sleepy pup.

Every time Olly's owner lifted him up and got him to stand, the terrier simply flopped back down onto the couch and theatrically resumed his position. The amusing clip has delighted internet users, generating more than 4.7 million views and over 343,700 likes on TikTok at the time of writing.

Alongside the video, Wilkinson wrote that she "can confirm, he did not go for a walk" after all. Newsweek has contacted @leannewilkinson6 via TikTok for comment.

After generating so much attention online, some internet users theorized that there could be something wrong with Olly, or perhaps he is in some sort of pain. However, Wilkinson wrote that simply isn't the case, and he is in fact "very stubborn" and "just naughty."

Maltese dogs are considered small toy dogs, typically weighing less than 7 pounds and reaching a maximum height of 9 inches at the shoulder. But these small bundles of fur are certainly full of energy, and the American Kennel Club recommends occasional exercise to keep them happy and healthy. Indeed, going on a walk every day or running around the yard should be sufficient, according to the AKC.

Evidently, Olly didn't get that memo, and he is very uninterested in heading outside for a walk when he could just stay on the couch and sleep instead. Who could blame him?

Since the video went viral online, Olly's refusals to walk have certainly delighted internet viewers. Many TikTok users joked that they can relate to his sleepiness, leading to more than 5,500 comments on the post so far.

One comment reads: "The way he just flops down kills me!"

Another TikTok user wrote: "The disgruntled sounds, the flop down after every pick up. This dog is everyone having to get up to go to work."

"This dog is my spirit animal," joked a third TikTok user.

Another comment reads: "As an owner of a Maltese, I can confirm no pain they are just incredibly stubborn especially if it's raining."
