The Green Bay Packers secured a playoff berth with their victory against the New Orleans Saints on Monday Night Football. Despite the big win, the team suffered a big loss with wide receiver Christian Watson.
Watson was rolled on by two Saints defenders in the second quarter following a big 14-yard gain. Though he returned in the third quarter for some snaps, he would eventually be ruled out.
Following the game, Packers head coach Matt LaFleur expressed "concern" over the injury.
"There's some concern there, certainly," Packers coach Matt LaFleur said after Monday's game. "We're going to get some more testing done tomorrow. Hopefully, I'll have an answer for you tomorrow."
Now, the Packers have caught a huge break with Watson, who appears to have only suffered a minor injury.
According to Matt Schneidman, "Matt LaFleur says the Packers got good news on Christian Watson. Just a knee bruise. Could potentially play Sunday in Minnesota."
Following the initial thought that Watson had severely injured his knee, the test results indicate he only suffered a knee bruise. Watson might also be ready to go when the Packers play the Minnesota Vikings on Sunday.
