After three years of dating, Paige DeSorbo and Craig Conover have officially called it quits. The two Bravo stars met on Season 1 of the crossover series Winter House. Since then, they’ve appeared on each other’s respective shows, Summer House and Southern Charm.
With Paige in New York, and Craig in Charleston, the two were long distance for their entire relationship. They were also beset by breakup rumors over the years. Despite those hurdles, many fans of both shows grew invested in their relationship.
Sadly, Paige confirmed they ended things just before the new year. Here’s everything we know about the split so far…
Paige DeSorbo announced her split from Craig Conover on her Giggly Squad podcast
Paige confirmed the breakup on the Monday, December 30 episode of Giggly Squad, the podcast she hosts with former Summer House co-star Hannah Berner. “It’s weird, it’s very weird,” Paige said of her three-year relationship ending. “I wasn’t expecting this.”
However, she also made it sound like a mutual decision, saying both of them “have decided to no longer be together.”
“It’s a very sad thing,” she continued. “I know I said I would never cry on the internet but like, it’s okay if I cry on the pod. I feel like that’s okay.”
Despite the breakup, Summer House’s resident fashionista said, “I love him, I think he loves me. I think we will remain friends.” At this time, Craig has yet to comment on the split.
Paige and Craig ended on good terms
Throughout the podcast episode, Paige emphasized that it was not a bad breakup. “Not to sound traditional and old fashioned, this is not a situation where I have, like, a 50-part series of ‘Who the f*ck was I dating?’,” she said, referencing the popular TikTok series. “Could not be more opposite of that.”
She continued, “I have so much love and respect for Craig. I think he is one of the best people I have ever met in my entire life. I will remain the biggest fan of him and want the best for him and he truly will get the best because he is the best.”
Paige kept gushing over her ex, calling him “definitely the best boyfriend I’ve ever had.” She emphasized, “He was a great boyfriend, and he did everything correct, and he never made me feel insecure or anything like that, so it almost is harder when no one’s done anything to be mad about, and that’s hard.”
The future appears to be a factor in Paige and Craig’s split
Paige didn’t directly name a cause of the split. However, she hinted that it had something to do with discussions over their future. As much as she gushed over Craig, she also emphasized, “I think it was just the right decision for both of us moving forward in our lives and the direction in our lives that we didn’t force.”
“No one did anything,” Paige continued, “It wasn’t a bad thing. I think we both were just being really mature and saying what we want and what we didn’t want, and I think that’s extremely powerful to be able to voice how you’re feeling in real-time and what you want for your future.”
Throughout Paige and Craig’s relationship, disagreements over their future appeared to be their biggest issue. The two were long distance, and often argued about who would move to the other’s city.
Just recently, Craig said he was growing to love New York. However, the 35-year-old also just opened a bar in Charleston. Paige also wanted to focus on her career, whereas Craig expressed hopes to get married and start a family. In the recent Summer House trailer, the two fought over Paige’s wish to stay independent.
Paige also referenced how things change as you get older, saying, “I started dating Craig when I was 29 and I’m 32 now.” She continued, “And your 30s, for women, I feel like are very transformative. And you change a lot and you grow a lot. Him as well.”
Paige sets the record straight on those rumors
While they became a fan favorite couple, Paige and Craig dealt with constant breakup rumors over the years. Just recently, a blind item came out insinuating the two were already broken up but were waiting for both their shows to premiere before announcing the news. At the time, the couple attempted to squash the noise by posting photos celebrating Thanksgiving together. Despite the breakup, Paige was adamant that those rumors weren’t true.
“In terms of people saying rumors like, ‘Oh, Paige was told to wait until Southern Charm came out’ or like ‘Summer House came out,’” she joked, “no one can tell me what to do.”
Paige added, “Like, the network has power, but they don’t have that much power. So, that was not a real thing. Rumors of us breaking up months ago again, also, not a real thing.”
While Paige didn’t specify when they officially called it quits, it’s clear she wanted to emphasize this was a recent development.
Craig and Paige will both appear on this season of Southern Charm, which airs Thursdays on Bravo.
