The couple are thought to be loving all the quality time they now have

He is one of the biggest stars of boxing, but Tyson Fury shocked the sporting world when he announced his retirement - again - from the sport, following his second defeat at the hands of opponent Oleksandr Usyk, after which had said: "You might see me fight again, you might not."

The news may come as a welcome relief to Tyson’s devoted wife, Paris, 35 - mother of his seven children - as the move will surely mean more quality time at home with the family. In fact, the pair seem happier than ever, and whisked their brood off to Disneyland Paris soon after his big announcement, and were seen in happy snaps in the French capital as they enjoyed a fun-filled day at the theme park, as OK! reports.

Paris shared various sweet photos from their trip on her Instagram Stories, braving the chilly temperatures there - including one hilarious snap of almost seven-foot tall Tyson riding the teacups. Fans loved Paris’s vlog of their adventures, one writing: "Hope you are having the best time! Disney is my happy place xxx." Another penned: "That’s what it’s all about ! family time and making memories , enjoy."

And a source has now told that Paris is delighted at recent developments- and that it’s doing their two decade-long relationship the world of good. “Now Tyson has retired from boxing, they're happier than ever and spending a lot more time together, reigniting the spark in their relationship.”

From being introduced at a family wedding to their eventual wedding two years after that, the couple's romance stretches back to their teenage days, and seems to have lost none of the passion of old. They’re feeling so loved-up, claims the source, that they could even be thinking about renewing their vows. “They spoke before about getting married again so who knows, it might be on the cards now there's time again.”

The pair, who first met when Tyson was 17 and an unknown, and Paris just 15, were introduced by Tyson's Aunt Theresa, who's known as the ‘matchmaker’ in the family. Fifteen years and one show-stopping wedding later, and the couple have welcomed seven children - and Tyson has proposed to Paris on three different occasions, the last time being during their show At Home With the Fury’s, when he presented Paris with a £50,000 ring during a romantic dinner in Paris.

Paris previously told OK! that if they were to do it all again, she’d prefer a more low-key day to their original wedding back in November 2008, which saw 300 guests squeeze into S. Peter-in-Chains Catholic Church in Doncaster, South Yorkshire. She revealed: "I don’t want a big ceremony or a big wedding, I’d like something private with just me and him." She continued: "It’ll be nice to reaffirm our vows. If he had his way he’d have it like a circus – a whole Big Fat Gypsy Wedding again! But I think I’ll go subtle."

Our source maintains that there is also a huge sense of ‘relief’ where Paris is concerned - as his high-octane career took so much out of Tyson, something that would inevitably have a ripple effect on their entire clan. “Paris is so relieved that Tyson has said he's finally retiring. She wants a bit of normality and 'them' time - they need it. He's always very stressed and antsy before and after a fight so all of their lives have revolved around boxing.” Paris’s agent confirmed: “They are having super quality family time at present. Paris also has a lot of work requests coming in - everything is just going great.'

Following his enigmatic post-match comments, Tyson - who is the eldest brother of Tommy Fury, also a boxer - subsequently made his retirement official, in a brief video in social media. Speaking to the camera, the Gypsy King, 36, said: "Hi everybody, I'm going to make this short and sweet. I'd like to announce my retirement from boxing. It's been a blast, I've loved every single minute of it. I'm going to end with this. Dick Turpin wore a mask. God bless everybody, see you on the other side. Get up!"

And rumour has it, though she has not publicly spoken about his retirement, that Paris begged the former heavyweight champion to quit the ring years before his shock announcement on January 13. Rewind to 2020, and Paris urged her husband not to fight Deontay Wilder, as she was so worried about him getting hurt. She said, “He’s in the ring with supreme boxers and it is a dangerous sport. We both know the risks. I know one shot can change everything…I wouldn’t like to see him continue for too long and get hurt.”

Paris previously opened up about Tyson’s boxing career on the couple’s hit Netflix show, At Home with the Furys, which followed the ups and downs of their lives at their Morecambe mansion. She confessed emotionally that, in the lead up to a big fight, she would get crippling anxiety and be terrified that one wrong punch could kill the father of her children.

So, no doubt Paris’s thoughts can now turn to happier scenarios - including potentially walking down the aisle with the love of her life, all over again….
