Peace lilies produce beautiful white spathes during the growing season, which is typically from early spring to autumn. For one plant enthusiast, Lucia, her peace lily "always" blooms every summer in June.
Revealing her secrets on her YouTube channel, Plants And Lucia, the plant lover said: "The first very important thing for a peace lily to bloom is temperature."
She elaborated: "Remember, these plants come from tropical areas in South America and South Asia." This is why the most ideal temperature for a peace lily to thrive is between 20C to 25C (68-77F).
"And not lower than 18C," Lucia cautioned. "Make sure you keep your peace lily between these temperatures [20C to 25C]. And avoid cold draughts."
Another crucial element in promoting a peace lily to bloom is the environment, most especially the light.
Lucia explained: "As you may know, the peace lily is a plant that will be okay in low light conditions. "This is why this beautiful plant is so popular as a houseplant. First, because it can adapt to lower light conditions and it is also very easy to care for."
However, if your ambition is to make the peace lily bloom pretty flower-like spathes, then the light conditions need to be indirect bright light.
If the tips of the peace lily turn brown or the leaves fade in colour, the sunlight is too strong for them. Left in a part of the house where it's becoming sunburned, the peace lily "will not bloom".
"We also want to keep the roots happy and healthy," said Lucia revealing her third top tip.

"Keep the soil moist," Lucia recommended. "I usually water my peace lily every week or so."
She added: "But I always recommend that you check the soil before you water her. This is because you want to make sure the soil dries out a little in between watering."
Top 3 tips to make a peace lily bloom
