PHOTOS: Bethenny Frankel Praises Joe Gorga as “Husband of the Year” Following Outing With Daughter Bryn and Melissa’s Family & Faces Some Backlash as Fans React

Bethenny Frankel faced backlash on Instagram after praising Joe Gorga as “husband of the year.”

Following an event earlier this week, during which the 54-year-old Real Housewives of New York City alum and her daughter Bryn Hoppy, 14, spent time with Joe, 50, and his family, including The Real Housewives of New Jersey star Melissa Gorga, 45, and their sons, Gino, 17, and Joey, 14, Bethenny shared her thoughts on the polarizing reality star. 

“Bryn and I always make the effort to honor old holiday traditions and create new ones. This year we attended the Elf premiere and were seated in front of some surprise Jersey guests,” Bethenny began in the caption of her November 19 post on Instagram.

She then spoke of Joe.

“Joe Gorga deserves husband of the year award for his happy wife happy life mantra in accompanying his family to Elf the Musical on Broadway,” she continued. “[And] his sons deserve their own award for attending this show forfeiting Sunday Football…”

“This year it’s Christmas with the Gorgas, and we are here for it… xoxo,” Bethenny added, along with a series of photos from their time together.

Following the sharing of the post, Bethenny was first dealt a message from Melissa.

“[You’re] welcome to Christmas at the Gorga’s anytime,” it read.

Then, she was met with a follower who suggested her daughter and Joe and Melissa’s youngest son, Joey, could be an item.

“Wait. Bryn and a Gorga? Aren’t they around the same age?? Aw that would be so cute,” they noted.

Others shaded Bethenny for speaking positively of Joe and Melissa.

“The Gorgas are gross,” one person alleged.

“Ugh. Somebody drank the Gorga kool-aid,” wrote another.

Still, a third agreed with Bethenny, stating that Joe was good to his family.

“Bethenny, you’re right, Joe Gorga is a good man, he loves his wife and family and isn’t afraid to say and show it,” they proclaimed.

Also in the comments section of the post, a number of Bethenny’s fans and followers noted that her daughter was “so stunning” and looked “incredible” at the event.
