The rapper was allegedly found to have a loaded gun in his car.
Polo G has been arrested on gun charges following a traffic stop in which the authorities allegedly found a loaded gun in his possession.
According to TMZ Hip Hop, the rap star was pulled over in the San Fernando Valley on Saturday afternoon (Oct. 19) for allegedly driving over the speed limit.
Upon a search of Polo G’s vehicle, a loaded firearm was allegedly found, leading to the rapper being cuffed and charged with felony possession of a concealed weapon. Sources say the hitmaker has yet to be released from custody.
Polo G’s career has been littered with numerous run-ins with the law, particularly encounters involving firearms. In 2023, he and his brother, Trench Baby, were arrested during a raid of their Burbank, Ca., home in which a firearm was found on the premises.
After being released on his own recognizance, Polo G and Trench Baby were arrested on a outstanding warrant on charges including kidnapping, assault with a deadly weapon, and robbery. Polo G would also be released on those charges after posting $100K bond.
This past April, the Chicago native was arrested after a gun the rap star allegedly left behind while staying at a New York City hotel was recovered by staff and turned into police. In that incident, he was charged with criminal possession of a firearm as well as criminal possession of a weapon before being released on bail.
Despite his recurring legal woes, Polo G recently released his fourth studio album, Hood Poet, in August. The album, which includes appearances from 42 Dugg, Fridayy, Future, GloRilla, G Herbo, Hunxho, Offset, Lil Durk, and The Kid Laroi, peaked at No. 28 on the Billboard 200, a stark contrast from his previous studio effort, Hall of Fame, which debuted atop the albums chart in 2021.
Polo G’s forthcoming Hood Poet Tour was also slated to begin this Thursday (Oct. 24) in Denver. However, it remains to be seen how his recent arrest will affect that date, as well as the tour as a whole.
