"Shout out to my lawyer Stacey Richman," the rapper rejoiced.
Polo G is celebrating a legal victory, as the rapper recently announced that the gun possession charge he received earlier this year in New York City has been dismissed.
On Tuesday (Dec. 10), DJ Akademiks shared a screenshot of a social media post made by Polo G, in which he revealed that he has dodged the charge, which stemmed from him allegedly leaving behind a firearm in an NYC hotel room.
“Beat my case in NYC,” Polo captioned a screenshot of texts between himself and his lawyer, whom he praised for their efforts in allowing him to keep his freedom. “Shout out to my lawyer Stacey Richman,” the hitmaker added.
According to the text thread, not only was Polo G’s gun charge dismissed by the judge, the charge was also sealed and will not appear on his criminal record moving forward.
In April 2024, the Chicago native was arrested at The Dominick Hotel on Manhattan’s Lower East Side after a loaded Glock 23 firearm was allegedly recovered by staff in his hotel and turned in to police.
He would be charged with criminal possession of a firearm as well as criminal possession of a weapon in the second and third degree before being released on bail.
The rapper may have evaded the charges in that case, however, he was recently arrested in October and charged with felony gun possession following a traffic stop just outside of L.A.
According to reports, Polo G was pulled over in the San Fernando Valley for driving above the speed limit, leading to a loaded firearm allegedly being discovered during a search of the vehicle.
The rapper was detained, but was later released from custody on bail.
Despite his recurring legal woes, Polo G recently released his fourth studio album, Hood Poet, in August.
The album includes appearances from 42 Dugg, Fridayy, Future, GloRilla, G Herbo, Hunxho, Offset, Lil Durk, and The Kid Laroi.
