NBC Sports broadcaster Leigh Diffey, who quickly became a fan-favorite after appearances in the second half of the 2024 season, has announced his schedule for the 2025 season.

From narrating a thrilling Indianapolis 500 finish to marking a quiet exit from the IndyCar Series, Diffey went through a whirlwind 2024. He also made a trip to Paris for the Olympic Games before stepping into the role of the authoritative voice of the NASCAR Cup Series.

Diffey's influence spans across multiple motorsport events this season, including Supercross, IndyCar, the Rolex 24 at Daytona, the IMSA WeatherTech Championship, and the World Athletics Championship. Additionally, he confirmed his presence for the final 14 races of the NASCAR Cup Series in 2025.

In November last year, the Aussie-American broadcaster underwent knee surgery to correct a misalignment in his right leg. Throughout his recovery, he kept his followers regularly updated on his progress.

Unveiling his busy 2025 schedule, Diffey shared that his season will kick off with commentating on Supercross, followed by the Rolex 24 at Daytona in Florida. His motorsport broadcasting commitments will be complemented with his coverage of track and field events at the World Athletics Championship. He said:

"The best sports car racing series in the world is IMSA across the four classes.

"So, it's incredible. I'm fortunate enough to get to do, not the entire series, but I get to do about half the series next year before clicking into the last 14 NASCAR Cup Series races. So, it's still a busy year. Lots going on. Lots to look forward to."

Diffey's coverage of the playoffs in 2024 prompted a fan to ask him on X if he was going to be present in 2025 on X. He said:

"Hi Kevin, yes mate ... later in the season when @NBCSports takes over the Cup coverage for the final 14 races."

The 53-year-old has remained active on X, responding graciously to fans. One fan praised his NASCAR commentary from the previous season and asked what he found most challenging about calling "stock cars" and what he was most looking forward to in 2025. Diffey answered:

"Maybe just learning the nuances of the tracks that I'd never been to before I'd say mate."

Diffey addressed the two-month gap between the NASCAR finale and the upcoming Supercross opener, stressing that it felt like a part of him was missing as he remained away from his commentating duties. When a fan asked him if he would be calling the Supercross next weekend, he confirmed, saying:

"Yes Alex ... really looking forward to it. It's a strange feeling when you don't call anything for a while ... it'll be two months between the NASCAR finale and the Supercross opener and when you're used to being in the booth every week you feel like part of you is missing."
