Power Rangers star sentenced to prison after assaulting elderly man

Power Rangers actor Hector David Jr will spend 45 days behind bars after pleading guilty to assaulting an elderly man.

David Jr, 35, who played Green Ranger in the superhero franchise, admitted to misdemeanour battery in Canyon County Court.

He had been charged with the offence after arguing with an elderly man, who used a walker, over a parking space in Idaho last year.

TMZ reported that officers said David Jr shoved the man to the ground. He was not seriously injured after the assault.

Yesterday, a judge sentenced David Jr to 180 days in jail but suspended for 135 days meaning he will serve 45 according to legal documents seen by the publication.

He was also ordered to complete 100 hours of community and will be placed on two years of supervised probation.

After the attack, David Jr fled the scene in his truck but he was found by officers after help from the community, who circulated a video of the incident on social media.

David Jr’s first professional acting credit was in 2010 film Percy Jackson & the Olympians: The Lightning Thief, according to IMDb.

He is best known for starring in various Power Rangers TV series including Power Rangers Samurai and Power Rangers Megaforce.

David Jr also starred in TV shows including Keeping Up with the Joneses,Rivals and The Bay.

His other credits include The Wrong Life Coach, 15:21 The Quest for Love and Freedom and Murder, Anyone?.

David Jr was also cast as Ricky in the Netflix Christmas film The Merry Gentlemen, alongside the likes of Chad Michael Murray.

He is due to star in upcoming films Once Upon a Christmas Eve, The Legend of Johnny Jones and YouthQuake, which he is also directing.
