Michelle Keegan has revealed what life is really like for her and husband Mark Wright, as the couple get set to welcome their first child together later this year.

Just after Christmas, the Brassic actress, 37, delighted her massive fanbase by posting a sweet photo displaying her baby bump, revealing their family's future expansion. The beloved pair and soon-to-be parents announced to their ecstatic followers: "2025 is going to be a special one for us..."

Now, in a new interview, the former Corrie star has admitted that life for her and husband Mark, 38, could be considered “boring” or even “basic” by some people.

Speaking to Grazia, Michelle explained that despite how glamorous the pair’s life may seem on the outside, they both prefer to keep things much more simple and low-key at home. She said: "Mark and I feel lucky to work in this industry, but it doesn't dominate our lives. We dip our toe in, then step back to normal life. It’s very boring and probably quite basic, but that’s how I like it."

The glam couple will celebrate their 10 year wedding anniversary in May this year, however the Our Girl star admitted that their “priorities” have changed now they are expecting a baby.

According to a friend of the pair, Michelle and Mark "kept their pregnancy quiet for a long time" as they wanted to enjoy the moment for themselves at first having waited many years for this moment. "Starting a family has been something they have wanted to do for a long time," a source close to the parents-to-be has said.

Speaking to The Sun, the insider explained: "They are both in amazing places in their careers, and their family home in Essex is all completed. The timing could not have been more perfect." They added that Mark and Michelle's "immediate family have known for a while".

Mark's brother Josh was among the many people to congratulate the couple as Michelle's pregnancy was revealed last month, commenting on the post: "Over the moon for you both and can't wait for our boys to meet your little one." Mark's mother said she was "super excited" to welcome another grandchild as she shared the same announcement photo on her Instagram.

Michelle, who shot to fame on the cobbles of Coronation Street, also revealed she is planning to take a break from work after wrapping up on the seventh series of Brassic, Sky’s popular comedy series. However, she did admit that her pregnancy won’t be featured as a storyline in the hit show as she explained she’ll mainly be wearing a lot of big jumpers and coats to conceal her bump.

The Very designer also teased that when she does finish maternity leave at the end of the year, she’ll be starting work on “a big new job,” which she’s been sworn to secrecy.
