Pride of Britain: Joel and Oti present Florrie with 'Child of Courage' award

Pride of Britain viewers were in tears when Perrie Edwards surprised superfan and Child of Courage trophy recipient Florrie Bark at a café.

Florrie, eight, was just six years old when she was diagnosed with acute myeloid leukaemia in 2022, and has been unable to attend school since. Florrie won this year's Child of Courage gong for her efforts raising awareness of children with cancer, through unmissable TikTok videos, which have gained her nearly 165K followers.

On Thursday night, viewers watched a clip of Florrie and her family going to a bright café with the adorable Florrie totally unaware that Little Mix icon Perrie was waiting in the back to surprise. After getting excited over a unicorn cake, Florrie and her family watched what she thought was a music video of Perrie's on the screen next to them.

Halfway through the 'video', Perrie turned to the camera and said: "Oh hi, I'm Perrie and I believe you're Florrie. Can I come out and meet you?" When the superstar came out, a shocked Florrie squealed in delight as Perrie hugged her. "I wanted to come meet you and surprise you." Florrie later said to the camera: "I had no idea that this was going to happen today. Perrie's one of my favourite singers."

Perrie gave her the golden envelope, which told her she won a Pride of Britain Award. "You are so brave, I feel like you light up this whole room!" Viewers watching at home were in tears watching the wholesome exchange and took to social media to share their thoughts.

"Well I’m just already crying," one user said while another posted: "Tears are flowing already over florrie meeting perrie." One fan added: "This show has only just started and I'm in tears already. One viewer commented: "Florrie is the bravest, strongest little girl. A little ray of sunshine." One said: "Not even 10 minutes into the #prideofbritain and I’m crying already."

Everyone who meets Florrie is amazed by her breathtaking bravery - she may be only eight years old but not one to dwell on her own problems - she is spreading positivity by raising thousands of pounds for charity and inspiring others through her TikTok account BeMoreFab which has nearly 165K followers.

Strictly's Pete Wicks and Towie star Sam Thompson went around the audience to get celebrities to donate to her charity. And it worked - Be More Fab received more than £100,00 in charity donations on the night - £30,000 of which was donated by Dragon Duncan Ballantyne. So why was Florrie chosen as this year's Child of Courage? Despite the curveballs life has thrown her, she has always remained positive and inspires others with her journey. Her TikTok page is full of useful videos highlighting the tireless work of the NHS, explaining to other young children what cancer is and features updates of her own leukaemia journey.

Meanwhile, her charity offers online and in-person education and music therapy for children with cancer, to ensure they don't miss out while receiving vital treatment. And despite the fact she is waiting for a lung transplant, Florrie giggled and chatted at the awards night as Masked Singer host Joel Dommett and Strictly's Obi Mabuse presented her with her Child of Courage award.
