Prince William reveals family's Christmas plans: 'It will be noisy'

It will be another Christmas at Sandringham for the Wales family this year. The Prince of Wales spoke about their holiday plans while visiting soldiers and their families in Bulford last week.

“We’ll be in Norfolk, at Sandringham. We'll be 45 for Christmas. It won't be quiet, it will be noisy,” Prince William said, according to PEOPLE.

The royal dad of three also admitted that "no way" is he "ready" for Christmas. Sgt. Sam Murray, who spoke with the Prince, revealed that William asked "what my children wanted for Christmas," adding, "He said he is not organized himself."

Per The Sun, the heir to the throne told one table that he was looking forward to Christmas with 45 members of his family "all in one room," but noted that they are "normally spread out."

It has since been reported that Prince Andrew, Sarah Ferguson, Princess Beatrice and Princess Eugenie will be missing from this year's gathering at Sandringham. The royal family exchanges presents on Christmas Eve, and on Christmas Day, they walk to morning service at St. Mary Magdalene. 

William has previously said on Radio Marsden that for him, “bringing the family together at Christmastime is always lovely because we’re quite spread out doing our things a lot of time during the year. So, we get very few moments to actually come together.”

“And when I see my children meet up with my cousins’ children, and they all have a wonderful time playing together. It’s very special. I look forward to that a lot. Obviously, Christmas is a new dynamic when you have children. Suddenly it’s a whole different ballgame of noise and excitement,” the Prince of Wales added. “I’m enjoying the new version of Christmas in my life.”

The Wales family celebrated Christmas at Sandringham last year. Less than a month later, the Princess of Wales underwent major abdominal surgery. In late February, Her Royal Highness began a course of preventative chemotherapy treatment after post-operative tests subsequently found that cancer had been present. Catherine announced in September that she had completed her treatment. In a special letter given to guests at her fourth "Together at Christmas" carol service this month, the Princess wrote that "love is the light that can shine bright, even in our darkest times."

"The love that we show ourselves and the love we show others. Love that listens with empathy, love that is kind and understanding, love that is forgiving, and love that brings joy and hope. It is this love which is the greatest gift we can receive," Catherine penned. "Not just at Christmas, but every day of our lives."
