There was quite a bit of fuss about Princess Beatrice and Princess Eugenie skipping the royal family’s Sandringham Christmas festivities this year. The daughters of Prince Andrew were scheduled to spend the holiday with their in-laws, but plans have changed for one of them.

Princess Beatrice and her husband Edoardo Mapelli Mozzi were expected in Italy, a major detour from the usual royal family holiday. But the family, including daughter Sienna Elizabeth, 3, and stepson Christopher “Wolfie” Woolf, 8, are now heading to Sandringham on the advice of her doctor. The 36-year-old royal is expecting her second child with Mozzi, and she has reportedly been advised not to do any long-distance travel, per Hello!

That means that Beatrice will be the only one representing the Yorks since Eugenie will be out of town and Prince Andrew is staying away amid his spy scandal, per the advice of ex-wife Sarah Ferguson. The Duke of York’s controversies continued to be a mark on King Charles III’s reign. From Jeffrey Epstein to their feud over the Royal Lodge, Andrew has embarrassed his older brother, who reportedly is “at the end of his rope.”

“The drama and embarrassment with Andrew just never seem to end,” a source told InTouch Weekly. “He’s an absolute disaster, but no one can very well contain him. He seems to have a knack for humiliating himself and the royals in the process.” Charles has learned the hard way that Andrew seems to outwit every punishment he doles out, including his housing situation.

Andrew Lownie, the author of Traitor King: The Scandalous Exile of the Duke & Duchess of Windsor, told The Daily Beast that Prince Andrew allegedly has a Plan B if he needs it. “Andrew has been given the use of a palace by the Abu Dhabi authorities. It costs them nothing. He has been spending a lot of time out there in recent years and I am told by reliable sources that from next year he may divide his time between the Middle East and the U.K. He is expected to go between the two,” he claimed.

After a year of difficult health crises and Prince Andrew’s never-ending drama, King Charles will be looking ahead to a better 2025. Let’s hope the new year brings the royal family peace.
