As we eagerly anticipate Kate Middleton's festive appearances, we've been reminiscing about her previous holiday styles. From her go-to classic silhouettes to her favourite designers for seasonal events, Kate truly is the (future) Queen of Christmas Style.
Another Royal who consistently gets it right with her Christmas attire is Mary, Queen of Denmark. Interestingly, Kate and Mary have several things in common.
Both women were 'ordinary' people before marrying into royalty and are now on track (or there, as of January for Mary) to become Queen Consorts. Their long brown hair and similar figures also bear a striking physical resemblance.
But that's not all - both women share a love for fashion and have had numerous twinning moments over the years. One such style crossover happened during Kate's 2022 visit to Copenhagen. On her final day, she met up with Queen Mary, and both royals looked stunning in their outfits.

The two looked remarkably alike in their regal coats and with their brunette locks styled loose, Kate chose a Catherine Walker double-breasted grey tweed coat, which is no surprise as the London-based label is her go-to for big occasions.
She paired the structured dress with pearl jewellery from Monica Vinader and a chic black mini Mulberry handbag, perfectly complementing the contrasting collar, cuffs and gloves. Queen Mary's white tailored coat was equally stylish, accessorised with delicate pearl jewels, black gloves and matching court shoes.

The Duchess dazzled on the red carpet in a stunning green embellished gown by her favourite designer Jenny Packham, which she previously wore during a Royal visit to Pakistan in 2019. In a similar fashion, Queen Mary donned the exact same style for a photoshoot released by The Royal House of HRH, The then-Crown Princess's 50th birthday, but chose a beautiful soft blush pink version.
Simply stunning. Another winning twinning look shows the Royal duo in designs by Beulah London, a brand loved by both.

Queen Mary sported the classic silhouette dress in a light nude shade for an exhibition opening in June 2020, possibly inspiring Kate to emulate her style a year later.

Queen Mary looked radiant during her visit to a community health centre in Indonesia in December 2019, while Kate wore the same outfit for the NHS birthday celebrations at Queen Elizabeth Hospital in July 2020.
On another occasion, they both showed off their similar style credentials in a classic silhouette that is heavily found in Kate's wardrobe. In March 2015, Princess Mary exuded regal sophistication in a pale blue, three-quarter-sleeve dress from Emilia Wickstead while in Tokyo.
Three years later, she wore the exact same style in a regal lilac colourway at London's Global Ministerial Mental Health Summit in October 2018.

As we know, Kate always dresses appropriately for the occasion. In December 2018, she attended a Christmas party for the Royal British Legion in a stylish red tartan skirt by Emilia Wickstead.
The Princess of Wales then re-wore the item two years later, in December 2020, for a Royal Train Tour of Cardiff and Bath.
In a striking coincidence, just a day before Kate donned her tartan skirt in 2018, Mary was seen in a similar outfit featuring a stunning red tweed skirt by Alexander McQueen, one of Kate's preferred designers. This wasn't the only instance where both royals showcased their fondness for winter-inspired patterns; they were also spotted wearing the same green and blue print in 2019.
The Duchess of Cambridge looked chic in January 2019 when she visited Scotland to inaugurate the new V&A Museum in an Alexander McQueen dress coat. Princess Mary mirrored this look a few months later during a Texas tour in a remarkably similar style.

Despite not sharing the same stylist or team of dressers, both royals have identical roles, so it's hardly surprising that they draw style inspiration from each other.
Moreover, it appears that both Kate and Mary have effortlessly struck the right balance between traditional conservative silhouettes and contemporary fashion.
