Queen Camilla will not attend tonight's Royal Variety Performance due to lingering effects from a recent chest infection, Buckingham Palace has said. This follows her absence from recent Remembrance events for similar health reasons.

The annual Royal Variety Performance, held at London's Royal Albert Hall is a longstanding tradition, showcasing a diverse array of talent to support the Royal Variety Charity.

A Buckingham Palace spokesperson said: "Following a recent chest infection, the Queen continues to experience some lingering post-viral symptoms, as a result of which doctors have advised that, after a busy week of engagements, Her Majesty should prioritise sufficient rest. With great regret, she has therefore withdrawn from attendance at tonight's Royal Variety Performance. His Majesty will attend as planned."

The Royal Variety Performance will still proceed with comedian Alan Carr and actress Amanda Holden as hosts. The evening's lineup features Britain's Got Talent winner Sydnie Christmas, Eurovision winner Nemo, singer Sophie Ellis-Bextor, and magician Stephen Mulhern.

Despite the Queen's absence, the event is expected to continue to deliver entertainment for the U.K. and world audiences.

This is a developing story and will be updated as more information becomes available.
