The Academy Award-nominated Luca Guadagnino was in his bag last year, releasing two films, Challengers and Queer, in just eight months, both of which garnered critical acclaim and landed nominations at this year's Golden Globe awards.
Led by Daniel Craig, Queer takes place in Mexico City in the 1950s, where an American immigrant is living solitary among a small community of fellow Americans. When a young student arrives on the scene, it pushes him to step outside his comfort zone, finally attempting to connect with someone.
Queer commenced its limited theatrical run in November 2024 and has now finally made its way to a larger audience through its digital release, which kicks off January 14 when the film lands on Video on Demand platforms.
Available to rent and buy now, you can watch the film inspired by the 1985 novel by William S. Burroughs, starring Daniel Craig, Drew Starkey, Lesley Manville, Jason Schwartzman, Henrique Zaga, and Omar Apollo from the comfort of your living room.
Where Can I Watch Queer?
Queer is now available to watch on Video on Demand platforms such as Prime Video and AppleTV+. You can rent the film in Ultra HD for $19.99 or buy it for $24.99.
Queer Physical Release Date
Queer is not currently available to buy on DVD, Blu-ray or 4K Ultra HD in the US, but the film is currently available to pre-order in the UK, dated July 1, 2025. Whether that means it'll also hit the shelves in the US before or on that date is unconfirmed.
Is Queer Available to Stream in the US?
Queer is not currently available on any streaming platforms in the US, but the film's distributor, A24, signed an exclusive streaming deal with HBO in 2023, so it will likely end up on Max in the future.
