Quincy Jones’ cause of death has been revealed.
As we previously reported, the music icon passed away at his home in Bel-Air, California, on November 3. He was 91. Quincy’s family issued a joint statement following the heartbreaking news of his death, saying:
“Tonight, with full but broken hearts, we must share the news of our father and brother Quincy Jones’ passing. And although this is an incredible loss for our family, we celebrate the great life that he lived and know there will never be another like him.”
His daughter, Rashida Jones, also penned her own heartfelt tribute to her dad on Instagram, expressing how much she will “miss his hugs and kisses and unconditional devotion and advice.” Now, more than a week later, we know how he died.

According to a death certificate from the Los Angeles County Department of Public Health obtained by TMZ on Wednesday, Quincy died of pancreatic cancer. Per the document, there were no other contributing factors to his death. The legendary composer never revealed his cancer diagnosis to the public. So, so sad…
