One of the greatest icons in music history, Quincy Jones, died last Sunday night at the age of 91, at his Bel Air home in California.
Jones forged a brilliant story over seven decades to leave an indelible mark on American music as a composer and producer.
Jones contributed to the careers of some of the most important musicians throughout history, and it is enough to remember two names with whom he collaborated to know how great and important he was: Frank Sinatra and Michael Jackson.
The boxing world pays tribute to Quincy Jones
Now, the world of boxing joined in the condolences for the death of Quincy Jones, leaving several messages and great respect for his legacy.
Boxing promoter Lou DiBella reposted on X a Quincy Jones tweet from a year ago after the death of Harry Belafonte on April 25, 2023, and did so with the phrase: "Together again."
Jones, who was the producer of one of the best-selling albums of all time, Thriller, in 1982, as well as having been the producer of one of the most recognized songs in the world, "We Are The World", also received a great tribute from the CMB.
The boxing organization dedicated a full page to Quincy Jones, celebrating his achievements and highlighting the musician's importance in the civil rights movement in the United States.
"The whole WBC family sends Quincy's family and friends our deepest condolences, as Quincy now joins the Heavenly Angelic Choir. Rest in peace," read the message from the organization.
Winner of 28 Grammy Awards, Jones will be remembered for his work alongside the King of Pop, Michael Jackson, and the success of the album Thriller.
In the 1990s, Jones was the composer of some of the most famous themes in American series, such as "The Fresh Prince of Bel Air", starring Will Smith.
In addition to being the composer of the main theme, Jones was an executive producer of the series, so he was also remembered in a melancholy way by the Oscar-winning actor, who obtained another nomination thanks to his role in the movie "Ali", in which he portrays part of the life of the legendary Muhammad Ali.
