A woman's decision to get her female ragdoll cat a male kitten has left social media teary-eyed over the pair's heart-melting bond.

Instagram user @biscuit.muffin.ragdolls recently shared a video of her ragdoll cat, Biscuit, and her new kitten companion, Muffin, which has since garnered an impressive 103,749 likes and more than 1.2 million views.

"I got my cat a kitten and wasn't sure how she would react to him," she wrote as the video overlay text showed Biscuit and Muffin snuggling as though they were a single, inseparable bundle of fluff. "But she accepted him right away," she added.

In the video, Biscuit and Muffin were nestled so closely together they appeared almost as one. Biscuit tenderly placed a paw over Muffin, as if to shield him, while gently nuzzling his tiny face.

Ragdoll cats, known for their calm, affectionate nature and striking blue eyes, are renowned as some of the most loving and family-oriented felines, making them ideal companions. According to cat food company Purina, they thrive on companionship and often form deep connections with both humans and other pets.

For pet owners considering adding a kitten to a home with an adult cat, Vets4Pets notes that while cats are independent, many can coexist happily. Proper introductions can encourage a friendly bond, ensuring the two get along well in the long term.

Introductions should be handled thoughtfully to prevent stress or territorial behavior.

Owners should begin by keeping the kitten and cat in separate rooms, allowing each to get used to the other's scent by swapping blankets or toys.

When they seem comfortable with each other's smell, the advice is to start supervised, brief meetings in a neutral space, watching their body language closely, and rewarding calm behavior with treats to reinforce positive interactions.

Over time, owners should increase the length of these introductions until the cat and kitten are relaxed around each other.

The internet can't get enough of Biscuit and Muffin's newfound friendship, with commenters pouring out their joy and love.

"I'm glad things are working out with them," one user shared.

"My heart is melting," added another.

"I'm not crying, you are," wrote Giovonna, and Tamira simply commented: "Omg what cute floofs!"
