He also targeted Tory Lanez, DDG, and Mal from the 'New Rory & Mal' podcast.
Joey Bada$$ kicked off 2025 by expressing his disdain for everyone surrendering to the West Coast on his new track “The Ruler’s Back”; a bold move given all that took place last year between Drake and Kendrick Lamar. Ray Vaughn responded to the Brooklyn rapper and dissed a few other people with his new track “Crashout Heritage.”
The TDE artist released the record on Wednesday (Jan. 8) and even tagged Bada$$ in a short clip on X. “2025 no sneak dissin, only crashouts,” he wrote. He carried that energy into his four-minute record, not waiting more than four lines before addressing the “West Coast d**k lickin'” that Joey rapped. Notably, he did this over “The Heart Pt. 6” instrumental from K. Dot’s November album GNX.
“What’s with the sneak dissin’? Takin’ shots at us, then hide the Uzi/ ‘Cause the only bada** the world was recognizin’ is Boosie/ Please don’t get confused with shootin’ the movies, we really shootin’/ Was on Soul album, so if you ask me, you look like a goofy,” Vaughn spat, referring to Bada$$ appearing on “Moonshooter” from Ab-Soul’s 2022 album Herbert.
Ray Vaughn quickly turned his attention to Tory Lanez and DDG. “And Tory, you should bе ashamed of yourself/ ‘Cause DDG needed to sell, you did a verse from a cell/ ‘Fore you went to jail, in the booth, me and you was Kenan and Kel,” he rapped. “Stranger things happened on the mic’ when ni**as beef over Ls/ Don’t think you shot her, I was prayin’ for your freedom as well/ You loyal to rappers in your early days you beefed with as well/ It ain’t no friendlies in the 6, then we gon’ blick you as well.”
Next on the list was Mal from New Rory & Mal, who has unashamedly stood by Drake throughout his heavyweight rap beef with Kendrick Lamar. “Shoulda did 60 days in for a podcast/ I treat Mal like orders from Temu, he’ll get boxed bad/ When it seem like everyone hate us, how can we not crash?/ The Pop Out did somethin’ for ni**as who don’t got dads, watch us make the stock crash,” Vaughn rapped.
Vaughn also saluted DJ Hed, who became a primary source throughout the rap feud. “We raised Pac, Dre and Nip, that’s a heavenly trinity/ And all we had was DJ Hed to back us in the industry/ They talkin’ reckless, that’s a deathwish signed in blood/ Bi**h, this L.A. county, we baptize goofies in the mud,” he added.
