Report: Karen Huger’s RHOP Return Could Be ‘Impossible’ After Guilty DUI Verdict

Real Housewives of Potomac OG Karen Huger is not only facing a possible jail sentence, but now her job may be at risk. In March 2024, Karen was allegedly speeding in her Maserati when she crashed into two signs and a median. She was charged with DUI; something she decided to take to court. However, the jury didn’t find in Karen’s favor.

Karen was found guilty of driving under the influence, failure to control speed to avoid a collision, negligent driving, and failure to notify authorities of an address change. She was found not guilty of reckless driving.

Right now, Karen’s sentencing date is in January 2025, and she is looking at up to two years in jail. Let’s face it, that bodycam footage was damning. She referred to herself as “Thomas Jefferson’s concubine.” Oof.

Unfortunately, this isn’t Karen’s first DUI. She was reportedly arrested a decade earlier. In that case, Karen received probation after pleading guilty to driving while impaired by alcohol.

So, how will this affect Karen’s role on RHOP? “Shooting for the upcoming [current] season is done,” an insider told Daily Mail. “But after her DUI arrest, Karen Huger will not be asked to return unless she cleans herself up.” The source continued, “Right now, she is on the chopping block. Of course, she may go to jail which would make it impossible for her to return anyway.”

It seems that Karen’s behavior on the police bodycam is a serious issue. “She was obnoxious to police and disrespectful of the law enforcement. This will all be taken into consideration,” the insider stated, “and she is going to have to get sober before any decisions are made.”

Then another insider weighed in. “People feel like she is in so much pain after losing her parents but it is still not an excuse for her behavior,” the source said. “It is sad to watch the bodycam footage. She could have seriously hurt, if not killed someone.”

Daily Mail reached out to Karen’s reps but did not hear back.

Karen’s attorney spoke out after the verdict. “We continue to reserve Mrs. Huger’s right to an appeal and intend to fully pursue justice on her behalf,” A. Scott Bolden said. Meanwhile, Andy Cohen also shared his shock at Karen’s guilty verdict. “I think it’s all sad. I haven’t really processed it yet,” Andy explained. “But I think it’s very sad.”

Only time will tell if Karen will be returning to Potomac as the Grand Dame. It looks like the next move is up to Karen.
