Is Dorit Kemsley still in touch with the members of Fox Force Five?
During a podcast appearance earlier this week, the 48-year-old Real Housewives of Beverly Hills cast member confirmed that she’s not speaking to one member of the group as she also addressed her feud with Kyle Richards, 55, discussed Paul “PK” Kemsley‘s closeness to Mauricio Umansky, 54, shared her new favorite Richards sister, and more.
“Oh a whole, yes, yes, [the Fox Force Five does] get together. I’ve got a nice friendship with Lisa Rinna still. [But Teddi Mellencamp] and I don’t talk,” Dorit revealed on the November 26 episode of Bravo’s Hot Mic podcast. “Rinna, that’s my girl. I love it. We had dinner just before I did the season.”
Although Dorit no longer speaks to Teddi, 43, who is currently in the midst of a divorce after allegedly cheating on her husband, Edwin Arroyave, 47, with her horse trainer, she believes they are “okay.”
“To my knowledge, we are, although I did hear some things this season that I was surprised about,” she teased. “But I guess to my knowledge we’re okay but we don’t talk. We always had the type of friendship where she would come to my kids’ birthday parties and vice versa and we’d send each other the occasional text. [But] I haven’t had a one-on-one with Teddi maybe ever.”
As for her drama with Kyle, Dorit said the tension between them began when Kyle excluded her from her “inner circle” for the “first time.”
“It felt like our relationship was strained, and it wasn’t my choice. It just felt like I was put there,” Dorit explained. “She had a close-knit group that she did things with that she talks about, they like to exercise together and go for walks and things like that, but I really believed that Kyle and I had a really close friendship.”
After beginning to feel that she wasn’t “as close” to Kyle as she once was, Dorit recalled giving Kyle “a lot of grace” since she was newly separated from Mauricio at that time.
“I understood, and I didn’t want to press and push, but after a sustained amount of time you start to feel like, ‘What kind of friendship is this?’” Dorit wondered. “And then when things like what she said publicly on Amazon Live, that I exaggerated our friendship, that felt like the final straw for me and it just felt like, ‘Ok, this isn’t a friendship to me.'”
Although Dorit previously withheld certain feelings from Kyle in an effort to keep the peace between them and avoid Kyle not speaking to her for months, she felt she had nothing to lose once their friendship dissolved.
“It just felt like there’s no way for me to actually get the friendship that I thought we had, the true friendship, without being totally honest and open, and I think she was surprised,” Dorit recalled of her decision to voice her concerns.
When Dorit was then asked if her and Kyle’s friendship was impacted by their splits from PK, 57, and Mauricio, respectively, since they hung out as families, Dorit said it shouldn’t have.
“Kyle and I spent equally as much time just her and I so our friendship was strong enough and tight enough that we also spent time as families, and obviously, the closer that Mo and PK got, the more fun it was, but we had an independent friendship,” she reasoned.
Dorit also denied that PK and Mauricio’s closeness made it harder for them to bond.
“If anything, it should’ve kept us closer,” she noted.
Also on the podcast, Dorit had a chance to change her answer as to who her favorite Richards sister was. As fans will recall, Dorit named Kathy Hilton, 65, when asked the question at BravoCon, which caused a stir between her and Kyle.
“It’s definitely Kyle, and that’s simply because I’m forced to say that,” Dorit replied, quickly adding, “I’m just kidding.”
“I’ve always been closest to Kyle. To me, it’s like, duh. Obviously. Warts and all, it’s Kyle. And I meant it then as well. Kyle and I have always had a really fun, funny banter, but harmless jabs. And we like to do it and we laugh and she was laughing,“ she explained.
As for their future, Dorit said she does believe that she and Kyle get back to where they once were.
“We can get back to that place because we had a couple of moments this season, some epic moments where we felt that, and it was like, ‘wow,’ both her and I acknowledged it, felt it, and it had been a while,” she shared.
