Garcelle Beauvais reacted to Kyle Richards calling her an “a**hole” for telling her, “If you want to be a lesbian, be a lesbian,” while out in Los Angeles earlier this week.
After Garcelle, 58, was seen making the comment on last week’s episode of The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills amid rumors suggesting Kyle, 56, and singer Morgan Wade, 30, were more than friends, Kyle lashed out against Garcelle on the After Show, prompting her castmate to slam her as “shady.”
“I heard that. It’s so funny because we laughed about it afterward so for her to say that was pretty shady,” Garcelle told TMZ, according to a January 21 report.
Garcelle went on to state that she was not making the statement from an ill place.
“I wasn’t saying it to be malicious. It was more about, we’re powerful women — we can be whatever we want to be,” she explained. “It wasn’t a dig. It was just, almost to inspire her to do whatever she wants to do.”
Looking back at her tense moment with Kyle on RHOBH, Garcelle agreed she was just being a friend and made it clear she had no regrets.
“I don’t take it back,” she declared.
Following last week’s episode of RHOBH, Kyle alluded to the idea that Garcelle had ulterior motives with her “lesbian” comments.
“What was really going through my head was, ‘You’re being an a**hole right now,’ and don’t try to act like, ‘Oopsy daisies,’ you know exactly what you’re doing,” Kyle had stated. “I was thinking, ‘If you’re thinking you’re going to get a reaction from me or I’m going to be offended, I’m not.’”
Kyle, who has been romantically linked to Morgan throughout her separation from Mauricio Umansky, 54, added that facing rumors of potentially being attracted to women was nothing new.
The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills season 14 airs Tuesdays at 8/7c on Bravo.
