Lydia McLaughlin shares what led to her mother’s passing earlier this month.
At just 77 years old, the Real Housewives of Orange County alum shared that her mother, Judy Stirling, passed away.
Lydia shared the news on October 9, captioning her Instagram post:
“My mom passed away last night. We are heart broken but we know she’s dancing with Jesus,” Lydia began.
“Fairdust, confetti bombs and crowns like heaven has never seen before. What’s in the cat is in the kitten and I promise to continue to make you proud.”
Judy’s Cause of Death
During an Instagram Q&A, Lydia thanked fans for their support, as well as shared what led to her mother’s passing.
“My mom battled breast cancer for many years. She actually found out the end of my filming season 12 of #rhoc and the producers knew and were very kind to us.”
“She lived 2 years longer than her Drs expected. She experienced a miracle during her battle. She was very private about being sick, she never wanted that to be part of her identity. She is the strongest person I’ve ever met and I have learned so much walking with her through this journey.”
Yesterday, the Bravo star shared that her family celebrated Judy’s celebration of life last weekend. It was filled with “a lot of love, confetti and glitter.”
Throughout Lydia’s time on RHOC, we’ve come to know her mother Judy as a carefree, spirited individual who walked on sunshine. It’s our hope that Lydia will cling to that, and how she made everyone around her better than she left them. We can not imagine what it’s like to lose a parent, especially one like Judy!
We continue to send love to Lydia and her family during this incredibly difficult time.
