The Real Housewives of Miami’s Kiki Barth accused Melissa Gorga of paying for followers on social media. She claimed she’s “seen it [her]self” and then forgot Melissa’s name, referring to her as “not Teresa, the other one.”
This isn’t the first time that the Real Housewives of New Jersey star has been accused of buying followers. Earlier this year, Chanel Ayan suggested the same, as she wondered how it was possible that her sister-in-law, OG Teresa Giudice, had fewer followers on Instagram. Back in April, Kiki’s co-star Alexia Nepola also claimed that Melissa bought fans.
“Name a Bravolebrity who you think has paid for followers on social media,” said host Andy Cohen on a special edition of Watch What Happens Live, via The Reality Rundown on Instagram.
“You know that lady — I’ve seen it myself — not Teresa, the other one,” said Kiki.
Andy then asked if she was referring to Melissa, and he pointed out that Alexia made a similar allegation.
“Melissa, yeah,” said Kiki. “I’ve seen it myself.”
Shortly after Kiki’s comments started making the rounds on social media, Melissa seemingly clapped back. She took to her Instagram Stories and posted the infamous gif of singer Mariah Carey stating, “I don’t know her.” A screenshot of Melissa’s post is below, via The Reality Rundown on Instagram.
In July, after Chanel’s insinuation, Melissa clapped back on her On Display podcast.
“I would never come at anybody because they had a lot of followers, and assume that they did something wrong to get them,” Melissa shared at the time. “I know Chanel’s not a weak-minded individual. She’s a tough, strong woman. I’ve seen her on the show.”
“She’s snarky and I think she’s great at what she does. So I don’t … really get it,” she went on. “So hit me up, girl, if you ever want to talk, because I’m confused.”
Around that time, Melissa also addressed RHONJ’s recasting rumors.
“The truth is none of us know,” she told E! News. “The Bravo gods are working their magic somewhere and making decisions.”
“I think there is a need for a small shakeup,” she continued. “I don’t know if we need a large shakeup, but I do think a couple things need to change.”
But the star suggested that the season was successful.
“Our ratings are amazing,” she claimed. “We do really well.”
As of now, the fate of The Real Housewives of New Jersey is still unknown.
