It’s Wednesday, which means a brand-new episode of The Summit is dropping tonight! After a storm forced the group to evacuate to lower elevation, their adventure is truly back on. But, faced with King’s Leap – a terrifying chasm – they face one of their biggest challenges so far. Using a single rope, they must pull themselves to the other side. And with another Mountain’s Keeper surprise, some strong alliance loyalties are questioned. Is the group about to shatter? We’ve already seen some tension across the eight episodes to-date, but this feels deeper than ever. Check out our exclusive clip from The Summit Episode 9 below!
The Summit Episode 9 has lots of surprises
Previously on The Summit, the cash prize was lowered as two competitors exited the contest.
Honestly, you couldn’t blame them. The camp was infiltrated by birds, and it all felt like an Alfred Hitchcock horror. (Maybe don’t leave the food out?)
The drama continued with the aforementioned evacuation, but at least they got to enjoy a memorable helicopter ride. That’s one thing checked off the bucket list.
Unfortunately for those remaining, things aren’t going to get any easier. And with such a huge amount of money on the line, the contestants are going to be tested beyond any reasonable limits. That includes not only the physical challenges, but the mental as well.
Who will continue on in the journey, and who will be falling at some of the final hurdles? That all remains to be seen – but I’ve got my personal favorites I’m rooting for…
The Summit continues Wednesdays at 9:30 p.m. ET/PT on CBS, streaming on Paramount+. The season concludes with the finale – the aptly-titled “Judgment Day” – on December 4, 2024.
