The Real Housewives of New York City reboot is rocking and rolling through its second season. Much of the drama has centered around Rebecca Minkoff as she staged a pregnancy rumor that upset some fans. Now, some people are going after her for wanting her own room on a recent cast trip and for bringing up that Brynn Whitfield doesn’t have kids yet. Plus, she’s opening up about her relationship with Danny Masterson from That ’70s Show.
As most people know, Rebecca is a Scientologist, and so is Danny. He’s now in prison after being found guilty of sexual violence against two women.
Of course, there is almost always a battle on Housewives shows over who will get what room. During a cast trip to Puerto Rico, Rebecca told Brynn that she should have her own room because she has kids and needed a bit of solitude. Naturally, Brynn took offense to this, and the two had a bit of drama.
Recently, Rebecca did an interview with Bravo, where she discussed their issues and revealed where they stand today. She defended her take on the room situation by saying, “I just said, ‘When you have kids you’ll know.’ It’s, like, one of those things … Until you give birth, you don’t know how painful it is.”
Of course, Rebecca loves her kids dearly. However, she goes on to say they are a challenge because of “the touching, the needing, and the ‘mom, mom, mom, mom, mom!'”
She added that she “was not privy” to how badly Brynn wants to have kids, and she didn’t know this was a sore subject for her co-star.
She continued, “I did not know her history. I knew she wanted to be a mom, but a lot of people say that. I didn’t know she was freezing her eggs … So, when I doubled down on my statement, I really got an explosion. And I was like, ‘Oh, wow.'”
According to Brynn, “It was extraordinarily hurtful. I know that I don’t have children. I cry. I wake up in the night crying because I don’t have children, you know?”
Erin Lichy, who also did an interview with Bravo, could understand why the comment was hurtful. She said, “I would say that it’s not a big deal … to say, like, ‘You don’t have kids, you don’t get it.’ But Rebecca was saying it with the intention to, like, dig a little bit. She admitted that.”
According to PEOPLE, Rebecca also recently did an interview on the Two Ts In a Pod podcast. While there, she discussed quite a bit, including her connection to Danny. When asked about him, she said, “I haven’t seen or spoken to Danny in over 10 years. When I started out, he was incredibly supportive to me. I knew no one.”
She went on to say he supported her by introducing her to “girls and actresses that were excited to wear my product.” This was as she was getting started in fashion.
She then clarified that she didn’t have any deep ties to him or his legal situation, saying, “And that’s all I can say. I didn’t participate in the case. I don’t have details.”
Fans can watch RHONY on Tuesday nights on Bravo.
