Between the MonsterVerse movies and last year’s even bigger triumph of Godzilla Minus One, cinema has been quite good to Godzilla over the past few years. The giant lizard’s also gotten plenty of love through toys, and Super7’s newest batch will help you celebrate the character’s birthday.
New Godzilla collectibles are on sale starting today, and io9 is proud to reveal a first look at six new action figures that commemorate the King of the Monsters’ 70th anniversary. Below, you can see the two ULTIMATES! toys: for $85 each, you could get an 8 x 6.7-inch green metallic version of the Shogun series Godzilla or an 8.5 x 15.8-inch figure of the mutant clone SpaceGodzilla that comes with interchangeable heads and hands and Noriyoshi Ohrai’s incredible poster for 1994’s Godzilla vs. SpaceGodzilla, which marked the villain’s first appearance.
Meanwhile, the ReAction toys (which run $20 apiece) are a 9-inch orange Marusan J-Tail, a metallic 50th anniversary MechaGodzilla, the vintage 60th anniversary King Ghidorah, and a Godzilla that does his victory pose after beating Ghidorah in 1965’s Invasion of the Astro-Monster. The Marusan figure will glow in the dark, while MechGodzilla and Ghidorah will come in retro-flavored packaging, all of which you can glimpse below.
The Shogun, SpaceGodzilla, Marusan, and Godzilla Victory toys can be purchased over on Super7’s website, while the Ghidorah and MechaGodzilla figures are over on the Godzilla website.
